First 3 hours of a 5 hour set in Bagots Hutton on Apr 5th, a mellow little basement bar in Dublin,..... a laid back(ish) mix that goes from disco to house and back again,... the recorder died, so I didn't get the last 2 hours :-( .... Recorded last Friday night at Dublin bar 'Izakaya'. 4+ hours and many old familiars in this mix 'cause I forgot to bring in most of my new tunes. Havent properly listened back but I do remember the odd sloppyish mix, due to mad dashes back from smoke breaks or getting distracted talking to some punter , but fun was been had and a couple of people asked me to throw it up here. It's the first recording on my new 'record on you phone' setup, so loads more mixes to follow. Too long for a tracklist, so if you want to know any names just ask!........ Oh, and it's in mono (due to the P.A. in there sounding better that way. Sooooo, assuming none of that bothers you, have a listen, hope you enjoy!

First 3 hours, warts n' all, of a meandering alcohol influenced 5 hour set on a Thursday night,  last month in Izakaya bar in Dublin. Just found this mix, forgot it was recorded. Haven't listened to it all the way through, but it was a mellow enough night and I remember enjoying playing,... will put up the last 2 hours if i find them. Getting back in the game, started recording the odd set again. This is the first  5 hours of a 6 and a half hour set on  Thursday 7/4/16 in Pygmalion in Dublin. A good few old favorites, but a few new ones, if you want to know any names just ask. It was a relatively quiet night, so it's pretty laid back for the first few hours. Oh, it's in mono and may not be my best ever set, but it's grand for a bit of backround music while you're peeling the spuds getting ready for diner.

Hang Together (Keep Schtum re-edit) - Odyssey [FREE D/LOAD AGAIN]

Just used the middle bit of 'Band On The Run' by Wings, chopped it up, looped it, streched it out threw in a few beats and sfx and then just did a few passes messing with a filter and delays. It's a bit rough and ready, but I think thats half it's charm,... or maybe I'm just been lazy;-),..... might give it a few tweeks in the future, just need to hear it on a few different systems. Just a quick little re edit we did years ago of 'Also Sprach Zarathustra (2001)' by Eumir Deodato (originally by Richard Strauss and in the soundtrack of 2001 A Space Odyssey). Only spent a while at it and never finished it. We did it for somebody else, so would have done it a little bit differently if it was just us, but what ya gonna do. They never got back to us to finish it, so it was lost and forgotten till the one friend I did give a copy to, played it for me last night and burnt me a copy. So i thought I might as well bang it up here, so more than just 3 or 4 people get to hear it. Michael McKenna (Keep Schtum)
Michael McKenna is a DJ and producer from Dublin and is probably best known by his 'Keep Schtum' pseudonym. His hugely popular disco re-edits have been getting support from DJ's worldwide, including Greg Wilson and DJ Harvey.
Keep Schtum's re-edit of 'Hang Together' by Odyssey has become a widely played Disco classic. The re-edit of 'Do It Any Way Yo Wanna' by People's Choice got the stamp of approval by Gamble and Huff themselves, when included on the 'Philadelphia International: The Re-Edits' album, released on Harmless Records.

Michael's had a number of other well received vinyl and digital releases, both re-edits and original productions. They often, but not always, fall somewhere between Disco and House. The most recent being the 'Real Change' Ep. with Dublin DJ Bubbles, released on 'Paper Recordings' offshoot 'Paper Disco'. He now has a busy summer ahead of him with a few remixes due out, and DJ set's at most of the main Irish music festivals.

As well as the occasional gig in the UK and Europe, Michael Dj's around Ireland and has several monthly DJ residencies in Dublin, including Pygmalion, Izakaya, Liqour Rooms, Soder & Ko and Ukiyo.
