While traversing Sector 12-G, the ship’s auditory sensors intercepted an anomalous harmonic field emanating from a derelict commercial structure drifting in zero-gravity. Initial scans identified it as a fragmented cultural relic from a parallel timeline: a mall-like installation, complete with mirrored columns and dormant escalators suspended in the vacuum.

Within the structure, a musical transmission echoed — unmistakably I Will Always Love You, yet altered. The melody appeared stretched across quantum layers, rendered in soft analog synths and pastel-frequency pads, as though Whitney Houston’s performance had been refracted through an alternate 1983 and reassembled by the void itself.

The emotional signature remains intact: devotion, release, and the lingering resonance of farewell. But the delivery is subdued, gliding weightlessly through the abandoned corridors like a memory caught between dimensions. It is neither a broadcast nor a hallucination; more a gentle afterimage of love encoded in cosmic dust, drifting long after its original source has faded.

The crew reports a shared sensation — a quiet, reflective calm — as if the song itself carries a message meant to be overheard in transit rather than sung. We will continue to monitor the anomaly, though its purpose seems less scientific than sentimental: a reminder that even across universes, some feelings persist.
