Inspired by the Italian expression "Andrà tutto bene" (Everything will be ok) this gentle solo piano piece miraculously approached my mind this week, its notes dropping to the piano keys, where I played it with virtually no preparation. It expresses calm, hope, and solidarity and I dearly hope it will brighten up your days.

Andrà tutto bene

One microphone, one piano, one take. Nature did the rest.

I‘ve not composed anything in a couple of years but I felt I needed to capture something that reflected this moment in time.

The dawn chorus was so loud and vibrant one morning, sounding full of life and excitement - it woke me up. I thought - what a contrast to a world in lockdown, isolation and fear! I tried to get back to sleep but a simple poignant melody kept circling around my head to the backdrop of the bird song. I knew I needed to get up and record it on my phone because if i fell back to sleep the moment would be gone forever.

So here it is! Nothing fancy - just simple, pure - rugged even. A somber, reflective and hopeful track to life in lockdown. 4am.

This is the first time in my life that I have ever used the sostenuto (Steinway) pedal. I guess I need some practicing but it's surprisingly useful!

Agitated

Covid 19 has had a worldwide impact. The obvious statistic are those that have been infected & those that have died. Job losses, lockdowns & isolation have also taken a toll on people all over the planet. As a musician now unable to perform live & earn my living, I have turned to my main instrument, the piano, for an outpouring of emotion. This piece entitled "Struggle", is a piano improvisation during these unprecedented times.

Struggle

Born in Berlin, Germany I very much enjoy composing smooth solo piano pieces, which are all played by myself.

What I am creating is sensible piano music that is intended to calm yourself down and relieve stress. You are cordially invited to experience that istening to my music can have a very calming effect on mind and body. Influenced by ambient and neo classical elements I am weaving elements of classical music into the minimalistic compositions. And my piano-based symphonic film score and soundtrack productions seem to be receiving increasing interest meanwhile reaching a wide audience
