Thursday slaybay miniset basscoast 2025

yo

i figured since i've taken forever to release other bass coast sets before -> i'm releasing this one *right away*. jungle in the center, with a healthy amount of sidequests. thanks to each and everyone who showed up. i see you all.

a few tech slips happened like my dub siren (monotron) not working and the third cdj not working right as i started (tech folks, who were excellent, swapped it out immediately tho), ..and that made me not want to touch the mic like i would have and switched what kind of selections i made a bit too. i am *GOOD* with what i did tho and i feel a true 90's jungle spirit in some moments of the recording (which is one of the things that i was aiming at - so mission accomplished).

big up all the artists who's music was played. and thanks to meggy and ray who encouraged me to go jungle a few days before.

“It was an honour to bring 2 hours of music to one of my favourite places on earth this year. This set leans into the experimental realm, both in content and approach - I let myself roam far and wide stylistically while keeping a finger on material I knew I wanted to present at Bass Coast specifically. There were particular artists I couldn’t do without, and blending between so many different aspects was a challenge to arrange. I pushed my mixing further than before, playing on 3 decks for a large portion of the set, layering atmospheres and rhythms while keeping forward momentum. 

What came out is a definitively personal mix - moody and atmospheric, delicate and dramatic - a cinematic journey through sound, rhythm, and emotion. I hope you find something special inside; something to bring you closer to your heart; something to inspire your inner creative voice.”
