He is releasing a new album “Tewari” in May from Hakuna Kulala which is a sub-label of Nyege Nyege Tapes. Mari* also chats with DJ Scotch Egg about his new project Scotch Rolex and his new album. Solid Steel (25th July) We start this week with Leeds based producer Bambooman who has his EP 'Dulcet' out on Sonic Router. He has also released on Brownswood and Project Mooncircle, and this is what he said about his mix:
"I tried to make the mix as summery as possible to go with the great weather we've been having; so here's hoping it gives of that vibe! I included a few old favourites - tracks that inspired me to make music in the first place from people like Edan, Moondog and Storms and Stress - alongside some new stuff I found that I've really been feeling from Lonnie Holley, Mo Kolours and Connan Mockasin before tying it off with 'Like A Hawk'; a track by my good friend's band, Golden Teacher. The rest of the mix is all my own material: Bambooman tracks (some released, some not) alongside tracks I've produced for London based soul singer, Segilola and bits from my side project Grouphums and 'Ferric' from my Rhodo Dendron collaboration alongside producer Venuq.
Best served with sunshine and an ice cold juice..."

For the second year in a row, Vief Records is raising funds for Palestine Solidarity Campaign. Voted for by those involved in the project, Palestine Solidarity Campaign is a community of people working together for peace, equality, and justice. Together, they are the biggest organisation in the UK dedicated to securing Palestinian human rights.

Their crucial work involves placing pressure on the British Government, which despite a change in ruling party last year, has made no material effort to end its complicity in Israel’s genocide. We still sell arms to Israel, both directly and indirectly, whilst also supporting its military with intelligence and training - the latter shockingly taking place on British shores.

Let’s be clear. Any minor concessions, like recognising the State of Palestine in September, would not have taken place without the tireless efforts of groups like Palestine Solidarity Campaign. And as public opinion against Israel and its actions continues to grow, continued campaigning remains vitally important.

Vief’s compilation comprises 15 tracks from artists based across five continents, containing the very best the world of leftfield techno has to offer.

Started by Ezra Ereckson and Tracy Harrison in 2012, ZamZam Sounds is a Portland, Oregon-based label that’s focused on the dub continuum born of Jamaican roots reggae and dub, and grown worldwide through electronic sounds such as dubstep, techno and dark garage. Growing from Ezra and Tracey’s time spent running the Bucolic Sound Investigations label in the ’90s, another experimental dub outlet that released the likes of Muslimgauze and Jah Warrior, ZamZam Sounds focuses on a dub sound that rattle bones on contemporary club dancefloors as well as more traditional dub dances. With their slavish attention to detail and dedication to the vinyl format – all releases are on 7” single, and have beautiful, screen-printed artwork, too – ZamZam Sounds is has grown into one of the finest new dub labels around.
