Grassskirt produces downtempo music with equal parts Balearic warmth and Scandinavian sophistication. Groovy feel-good beats with a penchant for the grand, cinematic motifs, created with a mix of acoustic and electronic elements.
 
Grassskirt, aka Jørn Kristensen, released the critically acclaimed album Hey Music Lover back in 2003 and has since focused on DJ’ing. Returning now to the Music For Dreams label, he is planning a second album, which is set to drop late 2025.

’Suivez Moi’ captures the attention with its 60’s organ and Hammond Leslie riffs played by none other than Nikolaj Torp Larsen.
 
Steen describes his tune as a Balearic feel good tune, possibly warming up for a big night ahead. As Steen says, ”I guess it could be like marmite, you’ll either love it or hate it, but I hope the party people out there will love it and get a smile on their faces”.
 
’Suivez Moi’ by Steen Thottrup will be available on all streaming services on July 29.

Over it rises a low, soulful female voice, warm, raw, and resonant with gospel depth.

This piece is dedicated to my father, who named all his daughters Esther to “save the world.” I have never met my biological father, but through this track I answer his call.
