The single 'The One' carries the distinctive signature of the EP, For The Record, as it showcases the unique blend of featured R&B singer/songwriter Trent Park grounded with Starita’s eclectic sounds of organic electronic, garage, and deep house. Contributors on this single include drummer Madame Gandhi, percussionist Christian Pepin of La Cuneta Son Machine, and the soulful voice of American singer/songwriter Trevor Hall as background vocalist. This modern rendition delivers a distinctive sound experience.  While the song has an overall moody vibe anchored in emotional undertones, it’s juxtaposed with bright vocals and dramatic instrumentation.   ‘The One’ is the third single from the debut EP, Starita – For the Record, speaking to that can-do (and will-do, damn it) spirit, which dares to defy odds and break the ‘rules’ of music genres.

This track speaks to the acceptance of the polarity of the human experience - dark with light, highs and lows, happy and sad, perfect yet flawed, beautiful and grotesque, left and right, love and hate - universal to us all.  In this way, we are all the same. To channel this energetic and emotional roller coaster musically, the production takes classical instrumental elements incorporated into electronic music to build a complex soundscape.  By taking a simple rhythm and melody; layering, building, and expanding it into an explosive, ethereal sound experience, this track connects us back to what it means to be human.

From production to delivery, this track builds on layers of juxtaposed elements to create an unexpected soundscape full of musical textures and veritable sounds - from a pretty yet aggressive production of ethereal pianos, strings and 808s to a vibrant and broad-reaching vocal delivery style that is serious yet funny. “Yesterday’s not today, we OK,” Deuce says it all.

Singer-songwriter, Julian Roy, known for his modern R&B/Neo-Soul sound, joins GRAMMY® /Latin Grammy recognized producer-artist Starita, marked for his unique genre-blending production style, to deliver a distinctive Lo-Fi Pop/Alternative/Electronic introspective collaboration. From vocals to production, Roy and Starita worked to create a free floating lush soundscape, intertwining melodies with counter melodies that played well off each other.  “While the lyrics are left intentionally vague, there is a touch of sadness to this song.  We wanted to mimic that emotional roller coaster through sound; capturing a personal journey of ups and downs, when there’s nowhere else to go, our only choice is inward,” says Starita.

GRAMMY® /Latin Grammy recognized producer-artist Starita jumpstarts 2020 with a fun, poppy, and groovy single that motivates us to live and love fully in the new year. Like Starita’s other releases, the consistent line-up of top notch collaborators continues with Billboard and Grammy-recognized Pop singer/songwriter Trent Park, Heather Baker, American singer/guitarist known for touring with the likes of Adam Lambert, Bonnie Mckee, Krewella, Kerli, The Iron Maidens, Fake Figures (members of Atreyu), and songwriter Brian Delizza.  Unlike previous releases from this album, “this is more of a ‘dance first, think later’ kind of groove, says Starita. “Looking back on my days as a House DJ playing nationally and internationally, there is nothing that compares to the electric energy of a passionate crowd on the dance floor, just letting go and living fully in the moment.  I chose this song as the first release for 2020 by design.  I wanted to offer a song that energized people to start the year feeling invigorated and strong; ready to seize everything that life has to offer, letting go of everything that doesn’t serve them, and just go for it!  So, don’t think. Just dance.” Starita finishes.  Trent Park further adds, “the concept to Fashion is about love, in all the ways it manifests in our lives.  People typically associate it with fashion.  But it’s symbolic to life, in general.  Fashion describes the person as fashion in a way that embraces and expresses who they are, the shifts in personality, mood, time of day, the color of their skin, lovers, friends, whatever and whoever makes them feel alive.” 

There was a layered approach maintained throughout the majority of the record. The vibe and bounce was consistent in the message and production. Instead of trying to fill space, everything was made into a hook - verse, background vocals, etc. This was distinctively emphasized within each phrase; ensuring that the listener could see it, feel it. This sort of lush soundscape, enveloping the listener with sounds, is what fans have come to expect from a Starita production.
