Ben Rau returns to his INKAL label with an infectious new single ‘What You Need’.  With his trademark deep grooves, pumping drums and uplifting vocal chops, Rau fires out another dancefloor winner.

The Berlin-born DJ and house music producer wraps up a busy 2024, with releases for labels such as Eastenderz, DFTD, PIV Club as well as for his own META label.  Rau also sealed years of hard work earlier in the year with his very first BBC Radio 1 Essential Mix.

Beyond his DJ sets and releases, Rau is known for his hands-on approach in the studio, often sharing insights and techniques that have helped him build a reputation as a respected producer. French hitmakers Oden & Fatzo return to Defected alongside frequent collaborator THEOS with ‘Only You’ featuring Noa Milee. 2024 marked an incredible year for Oden & Fatzo, who soared to new heights with the release of summer smash ‘Tell Me What You Want’ with Poppy Baskcomb. The now Defected staple earned over a thousand spins across UK radio alone, culminating in a live PA with Poppy at Defected’s Ushuaïa Ibiza residency. Returning to the studio for their next release, Oden & Fatzo enlist fellow genre-crosser THEOS, a producer and DJ who previously joined the trio for RAW EP in October 2023 - also returning from RAW is Noa Milee, a French vocalist and songwriter on the rise. ‘Only You’ is the product of a strong collaborative mindset, with the joy felt in the studio apparent throughout the house-laden, synthy record.

The new single marks the third consecutive recent release under Ben Rau’s personal INKAL collection, following on from head turning singles ‘So Simple’ and ‘What You Need’.

‘Set It All Off’ comes equipped with deep bassline grooves coupled with infectious shuffling drum patterns.
