This week on Métissage, we have the pleasure in sharing our airwaves with one of Montreal’s local Pioneers, a true passionate of vinyl; Host of his weekly DéCaDANSE RadioShow, DJ Michael Terzian will be dropping a mixset for CISM 89.3FM.

For 28 yrs, Montreal's Michael Terzian of the mighty Nu Bang Clan has stapled a signature, cutting-edge House sound like no other; gracing turntables in Chicago, NYC, Detroit, Miami, LA, San Diego, Toronto, Thailand+Turks & Caicos, not to mention a multitude of Montreal staples such as DiSalvio, Jai Bar, Stereo Bar, Salon Daomé, Globe, UN, Peopl, Jello Bar, Luba Lounge as well as repeat appearances for festivals like Piknic Electronik & AIM. 
Since Aug 2022, he's been holding down a monthly Saturday residency at Sans Soleil, one of Mtl's most talked about hidden jewels, which boasts a simple 2 turntable set-up on a top-tier Klipsch system. He's graced turntables alongside House Music staples such as Farley Jackmaster Funk, Victor Simonelli, Tony Touch, Jovonn, Rick Wilhite, Alton Miller, Ian Friday, DJ Pope, Tyrone Francis, Jephte Guillaume, Basic Soul Unit, Herb Martin, Freddy Sanon & Ben Johnson of Shelter NYC, amongst others.

Renowned for his eclectic musical journeys, he was nominated 3x on NYC's annual listing of "Robbi's Top 20 DJs" in 2003, 2004 & 2007 (Robbi being the infamous 5x award-winning House Music promoter of the year; of Shelter NYC fame); listed alongside legendary DJ icons such as Timmy Regisford, Danny Krivit, Tony Humphries, David Morales, Karizma, Francois Kevorkian, Kerri Chandler, Kenny Dope & Grammy-Award winning Louie Vega, amongst others.

From 1998 to 2008, Michael was a member of Montreal's revered 'Utopia's Paradise' weekly Saturday night radio show on CKUT 90.3FM. From 2010 to 2013, Terzian's self-produced weekly 3-hr Friday nite radioshow, Salvation From Sin, on Montreal's CJLO1690, received accolades from industry pundits from around the globe, not only for its tasteful selection of pure, unadulterated underground House Music, but equally due to the many local & international guests that contributed to the show over its almost 4-year run. Integral & pioneering Dance Music pillars such as Joe Claussell, Juan Atkins, Larry Heard (aka Mr Fingers), Ron Trent, Byron Stingily, DJ Spen, Chris Brann (aka Ananda Project) & Eddie Perez (Smack Music), amongst many others, dedicated their precious time to this unprecedented show.

In 2015, Terzian joined forces with longtime friend & DJ, The RawSoul, to form the Gold Diggerz, a knockout DJ-duo who held court at several key events & festivals in Montreal, such as Piknic Electronik, Lofthanza, AIM & Jardins Gamelin.

For a 5 year period starting in 2015 and ending abruptly due to the pandemic, Michael held down a weekly residency at The Angry Lobster Bar inside the world renowned La Queue de Cheval in downtown Montreal. Catering to a high society clientele, Michael has played his mouth-watering cocktail of refined House sounds for a bevy of celebrities in the public eye, such as Katie Holmes, The Weeknd, PK Subban, Adam Sandler, Lou Ferigno, etc; and an intimate evening where he played for the legendary musician, Carlos Santana and his crew.

In July 2018, Michael began a weekly FM radio venture on CIBL 101.5 FM in the heart of Montreal, to produce a Friday night House Music mixshow, DéCaDANSE. He has had several guests roll through the studio, notably Louie Vega (of Masters At Work). The show currently runs from midnight to 3am.

Whether he plays in a nightclub or on radio, expect this refined musical selector to deliver his sacred mantra of sweet bliss by making dancers not only climb walls, but equally ascend to their innermost spiritual heights.
