‘The Exquisite Corpse’ is based on the surrealist game of the same name. Taking Leah Kardos 'Little Phase' as it's starting point, the piece has been reworked by a series of composers and producers to create an album of tracks which continually evolve as each new version is passed from one artist to another, adding to and transforming material from the original piece.

Polish Radio Experimental Studio Tribute

Day three of Ableton #LoopAtHome and today's challenge is basically to recreate the sound of a fridge (or freezer in my case), sample some items from the kitchen and create a new track from it. And this is the result. 

For the freezer noise, I did my best approximation by humming at the same pitch. This was the same sound I used for the glassy melodic parts, although modified significantly through FX and filters. 

The percussion comes from a beer glass, followed by the sound of a beer can being opened. (I was getting thirsty!)

Once I had the basic fridge noise and rhythm, I added the three interweaving melody lines. They are actually, more or less the same part, just played at three different tempos and three octaves apart. Even if I do say so myself, the finished track gave me goosebumps.
