"This mix is an exclusive set for Awakenings filled with two hours of unreleased and unheard music. Most of the tunes are original tracks by me, but I've also included some amazing unreleased pieces from my close artist friends. A few of these tracks will release in the near future, but others have just been freshly made in the studio with no release plans yet. The last track of the mix is my new single “Devil”, that I made with my good friend MC Roga. Enjoy!"

If you’ve been visiting parties, digging for music, or attending festivals in the past year, you’ve probably come across M-HIGH. This up-and-coming DJ and producer from the Netherlands is just 25 years old and is on his way to quickly become a significant figure in the electronic music scene.

Inspired by house music pioneers like Kerri Chandler, Josh Wink, and DJ Tennis, as well as modern-day heroes like Brawther, Kolter, Chris Stussy, and D Tiffany, M-High brings a fresh take on deep grooves, acid, house, and minimal. His tracks, released on major labels like PIV, Salty Nuts, Locus, and Rutilance, have earned praise from fans and tastemakers worldwide, proving his ability to create standout house music.

M-HIGH’s DJ sets blend house, minimal, electro, and other styles, always keeping the dancefloor alive and attentive. Despite his young age, he is tirelessly touring all over the world, from Ibiza to Miami, London to Bali, Rome to Montevideo. No matter where he is, M-HIGH knows how to work any dancefloor. From legendary clubs like DC10 and Fabric to renowned festivals like Loveland and BPM, he handles the small stages and huge festivals like a real veteran.

With a growing fan base and support from industry heavyweights, M-HIGH is on the path to international success. Recently the wunderkid graduated from the Dutch Conservatory - the highest musical education in the Netherlands - combine this background with his passion for music and dedication to his craft and you know that he will be constantly evolving and pushing the boundaries of house music. 

After releasing music on Djebali, You & Me and Dungeon Meat in the first part of 2024. The summer of 2024 is looking exciting, look out for his upcoming summerhit "Devil" on Disorder and an very special release on Jamie Jones's label, Hot Creations. Next to this some highlights are his debut for Paradise in Amnesia and Creamfields, his US tour and his long awaited comeback in South America.

Inspired by the golden era of 90's Strictly Rhythm House, 'Take My Hand' is a masterclass in groove-driven energy and vocal-led nostalgia - 'The first version had a more rolling bassline,' Michel explains, 'but after playing it live, I realized a house bassline would work even better. Since the summer, it's been a staple in my sets, blowing up every time. I knew it was the perfect follow-up to 'When I Think Of You'.'

Dutchman Michel de Hey is back with a first ever studio album titled ‘Let It Go’. Due for release on Thursday 3rd October, it comes as a digital-only album on the In The Future label with a special all-nighter in Toffler Rotterdam (b2b de Sluwe Vos) and a 10HRS set at Thuishaven with Benny Rodrigues confirmed.

de Hey has been a respected DJ, producer and label boss for more than 30 years. He always captures audiences with a continuous element of surprise and constantly innovative sounds. He has played everywhere from Berlin to Ibiza to Japan and released on his own HEY! Records/EC Records, Noir Music, Bedrock and Rejected amongst many others.

This fantastic new album represents the last six years of Michel’s life, which have been his busiest yet. It is one firmly aimed at the dance floor, just how Michel likes it, and some tracks feature his own vocals, all of which are designed to make you forget about the world around you. Some of the tracks have previously been released as vinyl only or anonymously, and the artist himself says:

“In the time this was written, I moved to Amsterdam, I got divorced, I had too many long weekends, I turned 50 and most importantly, after 30 years, I finally re-found the pleasure and satisfaction of working in the studio. I can listen to all the tracks with pleasure and pride although each track stands for a different phase in my grieving process and getting over my various turmoils.”

Musically the album packs a real punch across ten tight tracks, from the deep opening grooves of ‘Dawning’ to the more unhinged synths and spinning hi-hats of the cosmic ‘I Am Not Looking For’. ‘Just One Turn’ is pure, infectious house music, while ‘I Just Want More And More’ ups the ante with punchy drums but melancholic chords. Elsewhere there are stripped back dub house cuts like ‘Wednesday’, masterfully melodic and hypnotic rollers like ‘Sail With Me’ and dreamy, pad laced closer ‘So Cold’.

This is an effortlessly cool and absorbing house track that takes you on a real trip to the heart of the dance floor in real style.

Tour-Maubourg & Cosmonection - Orange Glue (Virage Records)

After releasing the ‘High Life' remixes just before summer and their more electronic EP on Aus Music, it’s time to get label heads Detroit Swindle back on Heist. They come in with full force, delivering a set of Swindle styled house tracks, accompanied by a jazzy remix by Volcov in his Isoul8 moniker with guest appearances by Kaidi Tatham on keys and Nigel Bennett on vocals.  
 The EP kicks off with ‘The life behind things’; a life affirming soulful house tune that’s cleverly built around a set of switching organ stabs. The energy in this track keeps on building with the filter slowly opening up while live percussion oozes its way through the track (courtesy of Mauskovic Dance Band member Chris Bruining). After a well working surprise acid break, the track breaks down into a jazzy organ solo by Byron the Aquarius, building up momentum till the full track comes back in for a ecstatic delivery of feel-good dancefloor emotions. 
 The second original of this ep is Detroit Swindle’s view on what a party-starting piano house track should sound like with ‘Music for clubs’. This track is all about rolling drums, lush piano stabs and possibly the funkiest baseline in four-to-the-floor house music. The latter two are made possible by the quick finger work of their live show collaborator and close friend Lorenz Rhode.  
 The full B side goes to Volcov’s remix of “The life behind things”. He takes his inspiration from the energy of the original and chooses to set a steady groove where the lush key work of Kaidi Tatham shines both on the chords and a muscle-flexing organ solo. The vocal sample from the original is accompanied by some great ad-libs by Nigel Bennett. With these elements working together in perfect harmony, you can practically feel the good vibes these 3 friends had when recording the remix. 
 It’s been on our to-do list for a while to record a full-on house record, and we hope this one does the trick for you as much as it does for us. 
 If you’d happen to be around town during ADE this year, you can get this record a week ahead of its worldwide release exclusively at our Pop up shop on Elandsgracht 55. Apart from the record, we’ll have a limited edition collaboration collection available with Amsterdam-based streetwear brand Baskèts, loads of DJ’s playing sets and you could also just come by for a drink or two.

Harrison BDP has been a familiar face in the Haŵs sphere for a while now, with both parties hailing from the Welsh capital and notorious for sell-out records perpetuating sell-out events across the board. Harry launches his first full EP on the label after appearing on the debut Haŵs VA release back in 2018. Championing a sound that draws upon classic deep house influences, the rising star now carves his own brand of nuanced, contemporary dance music.
