Obsessive groove with a touch of melody: that's the best way to define Valerio Vaudano's music. Dj since the early 2000s, he started very young to appreciate house music in its colors and numerous shapes, especially the underground side of it... Soon his experiences lead him to a much more electronic soul and his dj sets become broad representations of deep rhythm, with sonorities that tend to touch both warm deep house vibes and cold experimental sonorities such as minimal and techno. He has played in many clubs in the Northern part of Italy and Europe

As producer he has released tracks for great labels such as Lapsus Music (Supernova's label), Say What? Recordings (Ramon Tapia's label), Krakatoa and Capital Heaven. His tracks have been played by electronic music icons as John Digweed, Laurent Garnier, The Black Madonna, Brian Tappert, Delano Smith (in a magic Boiler Room!) and Mousse T. , to name a few.

In 2016 he started his side project #Platform: less melodies, more beats! Focused on raw-techno, #Platform is an alias, a label and a music laboratory at the same time: a place where experimenting new ideas without any kind of stress.

We had an incredible time contributing a B2B set at Antidote's Love Motel on Feb 10th, 2024 in Nelson BC. The morning of the event we were given the unfortunate news that Hoola's Mother's partner of 15 years was in hospital and most likely not coming home. 

We embraced the LOVE theme to channel our thoughts and prayers towards him & mama Paine.

It was the perfect vibe with a wonderful cast of friends old and new to collectively send positive vibes towards his transition. 

He passed at 1:30pm Sunday afternoon. 

Thank you to our community for making the magic happen with us. We recorded this set in studio the next day and are dedicating it to:

TOO COOL TO BE CARELESS

Muumimaa on Wednesday night 01:45-03:30.   

Very thankful to the Muumimaa crew to be invited back to @muumimaa to play on the Wednesday night this year's Borderland! 

The inspiration for the set came from the 3 months long sailing-trip from Turkey to Sweden that I just completed. Most of the song selection was done during sailing at night when all I had to keep me awake was the fullmoon and my music collection, and so I prepared a wonky full energy set for the rowdy and sweaty crowd that I was so much longing to meet after life at sea… There's few remixes of old familiar tracks in there (Beatles, Laruie Andersson, The Beloved) and overall a lot of vocals this time around. Perhaps it was that human closeness that I was longing for out there surrounded by the un-inhabitable ocean…

All in all it’s a high-energy set starting off with some attitude “Til my baby gets back” from Fulltone onwards into a few afro-house tracks including a remix of Uncle Waffles “Tanzania”, and then into a crescendo of some hypnotic techno tracks mixed with some more bouncy house tracks to keep the sweaty vibes going… Ending with a song from my childhood heroes - the KLF - who I actually think was burning a wooden man (and a million quid) way before burning man was a thing (check out what they did with “rites of MU”)… all onboard all onboard onboard! toot toot! hope you enjoyed! :-)

In an age of quick gratification and the instant attention switch, Kenny “Dope” Gonzalez is a name respected for both quality and consistency.

Over the last 25 years, the four time Grammy-nominated DJ and producer has been astounding audiences across the world with his fusions of house, hip-hop, Latin, jazz, funk & soul, reggae, alternative pop and broken beats. By releasing literally thousands of original tracks and hundreds of remixes, Kenny has earned a reputation as a living encyclopedia of beats as both a solo artist, and as one-half of the legendary house duo, Masters At Work alongside "Little" Louie Vega and, not to mention, a 50,000 strong record collection.

Alongside being a DJ and producer, Kenny also holds the title of record label owner with Dopewax and Kay-Dee Records, the former originally focused on Kenny's own raw, beat records and evolved to hosting more vocal fare, and the latter being a landing pad for re-recording and releasing of rare and classic music.

Throughout his career, Kenny admits there were times when he wasn’t inspired to create music because of what was dominating the new direction of sound. However, learning to listen without prejudice has allowed him to continue to discover new styles, artists and musicians, and keep his love for the music alive. Kenny stays inspired and motivated not by doing what he likes, but doing what he loves. This is what makes his music timeless.
