Udāsa's Second EP alsahra' kidnaps us in the Maghreb. Venue is the desert. Far away from civilization, Berber tribes roam the sand. Wind blows over the dunes. And at night, temperatures drop below freezing. Then only a cup of hot black tea will help. This desert is a place full of dangers, but also full of beauty. The voice in Alsahra' belongs to Jasmin Amin. The oud in alsahra' and Wanash played Ghaith al Shaar.

In a curious way, Renata Slama's life has allowed her to reach out and get in touch with music in multiple ways, from playing guitar and piano in childhood to going deeper into musical theory. With Israeli blood going through her veins and under the alias of Lady Slama, the Brazilian DJ has been spinning the decks since 2017, simultaneously producing and djing in the Sao Paulo based downtempo music collective Quack that creates engaging cultural underground events. As a junction of deep-cosmic-alien meets Brazilian, mixed with the Orient, peppered with organic Latin, Lady Slama reflects on her selections a cosmopolitan view by bringing unique references together as an extra.

As a contribution in our 151th edition, her almost two hours mixtape includes several mashups, samples, field recordings and some edits with Lady Slama personal-touch, all mixed in Ableton. Therefore, nothing is random, everything in its right place. In order to instigate communication through her work, the beginning of the set is a tribute to all the women channeled in the poem of her friend Cecilia Erisman, based on the rights and entitlements claimed for women and girls worldwide. Following on, she rambles a territory with quietly delirious sounds, also in a romantic vintage dress when playing unexpected, nostalgic and pulsating grooves. We will not enlarge any further on the words, but remember, nothing is random.

THEY HAD SPENT the morning at the Prado and now were sitting at a place in a building with thick stone waIls. It was cool and very old. There were wine casks around the walls. The tables were old and thick and the chairs were worn. The light came from the door, The waiter brought them glasses of mazanilla from the lowland near Cadiz called the Marismas with thin slices of jamon serrano, a smoky, hard cured ham from pigs that fed on acorns, and bright red spicy salchichon, another even spicier dark sausage from a town called Vich and anchovies and garlic olives. They ate these and drank more of the manzanilla, which was light and nutty tasting. Catherine had a Spanish-English Method book with a green cover on the table close to her hand and David had a stack of the morning papers. It was a hot day but coo'l in the old building and the waiter asked, "Do you want gazpacho?" He was an old man and he filled their glasses again. "Do you think the senorita would like it?" "Try her," the waiter said gravely as though he were speaking of a mare. The new Shango Records EP come by Brasilian music wizard ElPeche and contains five amazing Brasilian-Electronica tracks that can simply make think of how beautiful life, time and love is.
