When I decided to record my own version of “And so I know” by Stone Temple Pilots, it wasn’t just a cover — it was a way to say goodbye. After Scott Weiland’s passing, this song took on a different meaning for me. I sang it softly, with acoustic guitars, harmonica, and a warm organ background, trying to capture that strange mix of melancholy and rebirth that lives in its melody.

For me, the phrase “And so I know” means realizing that something has started again — that even when someone leaves, some part of their energy keeps finding ways to come back. The song became a reflection on cycles: the end of one chapter, the beginning of another. I recorded it in one take, almost like a prayer, feeling that fragile line between loss and continuity.

I didn’t want to imitate Scott. I just wanted to honor him — and in the process, I felt a kind of peace, as if music itself was whispering that everything begins again, just in a different form.

Another cover, this time the first two tracks from the 1982 Alan Parson Project album "Eye In The Sky". Alan Parsons is well-known for his career as a studio engineer in the 60s and 70s, when he worked as the engineer on albums such as "Abbey Road" and "Dark Side of The Moon". As far as I'm aware, these are probably the two best-known songs by APP (according to Wikipedia, Sirius was used by the Chicago Bulls as their entrance music during the 1990s). The biggest challenge was getting the vocal harmonies accurate, as the slightest inaccuracy is even more obvious when sung alongside other harmonies. I followed the final guitar solo from the album version for part of it, and then made up the rest (loosely based on the vocal melody).

As per usual, keyboard and bass parts were recorded on the M3, drums programmed in Toontrack, guitars recorded on the Ibanez and processed using Amplitube 3. The strings were recorded using Miroslav Philharmonik. Vocals recorded using SM57 and all produced in Cubase.
