Made largely with the VOPM VST, using the actual instrument presets from Sonic 3 / Sonic and Knuckles to emulate the Genesis sound. Enjoy!

You run zigzag trying to get away from it, but just as you think you're losing him you run up against a cliff and are trapped! 
Luckily for you, it just wants someone to spend the holidays with it.

(TBH, the first half of this was just an excuse to get to the holiday cheer in the second half...)

Snow Troll

The flaming depths of the castle where the weapons and arms of the demon army were forged was known for its spouting flames, lava running down the whole area in a long flaming gutter and metallic presses and anvils. However, something changed, and the area has since been transformed into a frozen and frigid hellscape. The frozen river of lava now sits silently, and only the worn anvils, long since broken and forgotten presses and hammers tell the tale of what this area was like, a long time ago.

Write a melody using an instrument you've never used before whose name you aren't 100% sure how to pronounce.
Nice idea, I searched in my tones and found this "Shamisen".
Wiki source: The shamisen or samisen (三味線), also sangen (三絃, both words mean "three strings"), is a three-stringed traditional Japanese musical instrument derived from the Chinese instrument sanxian. It is played with a plectrum called a bachi.
I watched some very interesting tutorials but it seemed too complicated to recreate the same intensity of a traditional folk japanese song on my daw.
So I decided to make an ambient track, using a gentle delay.
Sounds like the first Shamisen in space :D

Hope I'll be able to try this instrument once. This was very intersting anyway.
