Michele ,this is highly evocative...especially the crowd participation in the background, as young man ,I used to live near Craven cottage  ththe home of Fulham football ground ,in London... I was working hard then ,had very little time st home ,but on the odd occasion,...your music sums it all up ,thankyou.

In this final version (here the draft: https://soundcloud.com/michele-ansani/sunday-derby) I have the honour of adding the contribution of Manuel Pietra (take a listen to his tracks: https://soundcloud.com/mozartwolfy81), my friend and my daughter's piano teacher, in the first and in the last part of the piece.
For those (like me) born in the late 1950s and raised in Milan in the 1960s, Sunday of derby (AC Milan vs. FC Internazionale) was the most beautiful and most feared day of the year. The three sections of the piece correspond to three easily understood moments: before the match (Saturday night and Sunday morning); during the match (Sunday afternoon); after the match (Sunday evening and Sunday night). All imperfections (as usual) are mine.
As it's clear in the end of the second part of the piece, my team won the match that time (so many years ago ...). I'm sorry to say that Manuel is a fan of the other Milan team, the one that lost the game in the circumstance mentioned ...

Sunday Derby (extended version) **

Hello! I’m a university professor of history who enjoys playing guitar and piano/keyboard, and occasionally composing — unpretentiously, just for fun.
Most of my recordings (made with a KorgD8, Audacity, and more recently Reaper for MIDI and the Spitfire Audio libraries) are entirely homemade and decidedly imperfect.
My music includes old songs (all written back in the last century; here I’ve only shared the ones I’ve reworked in recent years) as well as both old and new instrumentals — usually in several versions, some of which eventually disappear because they’re simply unlistenable.

Thanks for stopping by and giving something a listen; in the description you’ll often find explanatory notes or translations of the lyrics.
Here I’ve discovered a community of talented musicians and songwriters, and plenty of beautiful music to enjoy. Whenever I like, comment, or repost a track, it’s always the result of attentive listening. For the same reason, I’m not interested in trading empty “likes” without real engagement, and I won’t reply to messages from would-be promoters — follower counts don’t matter to me in the slightest.
