‘Tell Me Something Good’ sees the Scottish DJ/producer cover Rufus & Chaka Khan’s 70s jam of the same name, twisting catchy vocals and huge synth stabs into an ecstatic peak time club weapon. ‘Delta’ brings the tempo down, but keeps the energy levels high as piano chords drift effortlessly across a chugging breakbeat and rolling basslines, making for a feel-good closing track to another standout release from Trick.

Straight out of summer with a powerful, playful and provocative new single for the clubs, Catz 'n Dogz link up with their good friend Megane Mercury with two raw and empowering tracks: 'Toma / Kiki' 

A gifted and highly experimental vocalist, who was shouted by Vogue Spain as a 'Hot Talent For 2021', Megane has been making a name for himself with his electronic, pop and hip-hop fusions over the last few years from his native Madrid. Rapping and singing in Latin, his work often subverts Spanish and pop culture, traditions and songs, reclaiming them from his own perspective as a black and queer artist. Both these tracks are no exception.. 

'Toma' riffs on Conchi Cortes' 1999 pop hit that every Spanish kid growing up in the 90s would know, but gives things a much darker twist. Flipping the rhythmical onomatopoeic sounds with a rich, tribal vocal, he empowers the listener and explains how their lifestyle cannot be questioned or compromised under any terms. 

'Kiki' follows suit in both its rhythmical vocal use and its subversive twist. Taking the Spanish sound for the cockerel's dawn chorus while nodding in the direction of Daddy Yankee's 'Gasolina', 'Kiki' once again fires up references that give a little slice of familiarity in an otherwise exciting and fresh territory that's gritty, direct and guaranteed to whip up dancefloors this season. 

Expect more subversive messages from Catz 'n Dogz in the future as they continue to work with inspiring queer artists, creating a platform where vital messages can be made in ways that make us all unite and dance together.

House music rising star Jaden Thompson has unveiled his newly-launched record label Midnight Parade, also dropping its first single ‘Move Your Body’, out 5th November.

Juxtaposing a deep, grooving bassline with delicate vocals, ‘Move Your Body’ is a jackin’ house heater that captures the essence of golden-era Chicago. Drawing inspiration from the likes of Mr G, Omar S, Kerri Chandler and Derrick Carter, Midnight Parade will be a DIY creative platform for Jaden and like-minded artists to express themselves sonically.

“For me, starting a label feels like a natural progression as an artist, giving me an outlook to release music and champion other great sounds,” Jaden explains. “Midnight Parade is a label offering quality House music with a groove.”

‘Move Your Body’ follows on from ‘Only One’, a single that has amassed over 1 million streams, and the critically acclaimed ‘Closer’, a track that was crowned BBC Radio 1 ‘Tune of the Week’ by both Arielle Free and Nick Grimshaw, with Pete Tong naming it his ‘Essential New Tune’ on the same station. It also received high-profile remixes from The Martinez Brothers & Jesse Calosso, Derrick Carter, Higgo and Cinthie.

It’s been a busy summer on the road for Jaden, with gigging highlights including The Warehouse Project, Extrema Outdoor in Belgium, TRMNL in Birmingham & Classic in Italy, in addition to his residency at fabric London. Looking ahead, there’s eye-catching sets at Leeds’ Mint Warehouse (30th Oct), Circus in Liverpool and fabric (23rd Oct, 17th Dec) before the end of the year.

Still just 22-years-old, Swindon-born Jaden Thompson is one of the UK’s brightest electronic talents and accomplished what others would strive for in their entire careers, becoming a Fabric resident by 19, rubbing shoulders with The Martinez Brothers and making fans out of legends like Seth Troxler and Jamie Jones. What’s more, he’s already releasing music on esteemed electronic imprints such as Cuttin’ Headz, Archie Hamilton’s Moscow Records, PIV and anLuke Solomon's Classic Music.

The launch of Midnight Parade signifies the start of an exciting new chapter in the story of Jaden Thompson.

Debuting on Classic Music Company earlier in 2021 with ‘Right There / Holy Ghost’, Floorplan return to Luke Solomon’s imprint to deliver another divine two-tracker ‘Get My Mansion Ready / Out Of Control’ to close out the year. Created as an outlet for Robert Hood’s soulful, spiritual influences, the techno pioneer welcomed his daughter Lyric into the group in 2014 where it has since gone from strength to strength, as they consistently deliver evergreen cuts under the moniker. Opening the release with ‘Get My Mansion Ready’, Floorplan’s signature big chords and bigger vocal hooks are underlined with a ferocious techno bassline ready to pump the dancefloor with life. ‘Out Of Control’ goes deeper and darker, a hypnotic looped vocal and menacing builds employed to almost theatrical effect. Combining to make an EP bursting with club appeal, it’s time to get to know these cuts, as you’ll be hearing them across dancefloors for some time to come.

One of the scene’s most in demand producers and DJs, Darius Syrossian returns to Defected to release ‘White Rabbit’. The release follows a slew of heavy hitters on the imprint, including his 2019 collab with Jamie Jones ‘Rushing’ and solo label debut ‘Come On Come On’, as well as his slamming, disco flavoured two-tracker ‘Tivoli’s Groove / Mustang 74’ on DFTD. Born late in the studio one night just before the world went into lockdown and demonstrating his breadth of musical influences, ‘White Rabbit’ is Darius’ take on the cult 1967 psychedelic record by Jefferson Airplane bearing the same name. Reworked for his DJ sets into a chunky main room cut, Darius kept ‘White Rabbit’ back until dancefloors reopened. Met with a slew of ID requests as he debuted it across summer ’21, a limited white label vinyl only release of 300 copies on his own Moxy Muzik imprint has now evolved into a full digital release with Defected. With all the markers of a club heater, a refreshed vocal and reverberating guitar riffs add an electrifying quality that makes ‘White Rabbit’ stand out from the crowd. From big main room moments to the darker recesses of the dancefloor, expect to hear this one dominate soundsystems for some time to come.

For the KEENE's debut Club Bad release, they have delivered a super elegant yet powerful two track EP titled ‘Legendary Mother’. The first and title track of the EP is an edgy house track with touches of afro, percussive tendencies, organs, bells, and trumpets, combined with subtle vocal cuts from the "Golden Era" of the ball movement back in the late 80s, giving the right vibe that works perfectly for the dance floor.
 
On the flip side we have ‘Avenida Central’ which is a Brazilian funk influenced house track that reflects memories from the street in Panama's city centre of the same name. The track features well worked looped samples, guitar and horn licks creating a great organic feel to the track and rounds off this EP to perfection.

The KEENE brothers hail from Panama and have been producing together since 2010. They’re known for their seductive deep house, house and techno with ethnic and organic touches. They launched their own Cacao Records label back in 2016 and have featured artists like Steve Bug, Re.You, Black Loops, Emmanuel Jal, and Stereo MC's. The brothers have released on high quality labels like Sol Selectas, Get Physical, Monaberry, whilst collaborating with artists like Anja Schneider, Kiwi, Floyd Lavine, Boddhi Satva and more.
