“Moma’s Box of Memories”

I remember Moma had an old hat box she kept under her bed, it's packed full of memories from the past, ever now and then she'd pull that old hat box out, sharing with her children all the treasures from within.

Moma's box of memories stacked up underneath her bed, 
she falls asleep every night with those memories in her head.

In her box of treasures you’d never know what you’d find…
Old jewelry, faded photos, Christmas cards,
even love letters that she had read over and over
until the paper was worn from the hands of time.

Moma's box of memories bring dreams to her through the night, 
thoughts of her children laughing or just having a real good fight.

Moma's box of memories is full of pictures and things, 
she can't take them with her when she passes onto Angel wings.

As Moma's tucked away in a strange bed tonight,
she can’t get out of bed on her own anymore…
nurses have to help her, yes that's right.

Away from home she never loses sight, 
of her children she so dearly loves…
for them she fights this disease with all of her might. 

Moma's box of memories stacked up underneath her bed, 
she falls asleep every night with those memories in her head.

Someday Mom will leave this sickness behind… 
and travel to a better place, 
one that God has in mind.

Leaving behind a box of heirlooms… 
for her children to remember her by, 
and bringing with her all the memories as she drifts off to heaven with a smile.

No More Lies, No More Cries

 Started out singing in my grandpas church at age 5, I remember it like it was yesterday, met a very talented singing family, The Trotters, had my 1st puppy love, he was my singing partner in church. The church group loved to hear us sing them old church songs, just loved that time in my life. 
Later years grew up writing poetry, lyrics, just like my beautiful mother did, and she was also a published poet, before Huntington ’s disease took over, sadly snatching away the life from her! 
I’ve been advocating through my music, for the Huntington’s disease (HD) cause ever since we learned about HD, due to my Mothers diagnosis. 
During the years my mother was going through the horrific battle with HD, I would write lyrics down on paper, napkins, whatever I could find to express myself during the difficult times to emotionally deal with slowly losing her. The outcome was a beautiful tribute in her memory, “Moma’s Box Of Memories”. This beautiful song has brought so many beautiful people into my life along the way, over the years these people have become family! 
Accomplishments’; Poems published in several anthologies, Featured  Articles’ in Indie Music Magazine, Sick Chicks, Music Road Radio website, Performed at KAR Dance Nationals, NCMA Awards, Nominations’ for  Music Video Of The Year, Song Of The Year, Finalist for Songwriter OF The Year at the Nashville Universe Awards, Songwriter Of The Year at the LOZRadio Awards.
