My take on Beastie's 'It takes time to build'.
Only used free software to create it to see how far I could get. Soundation as a DAW and Audacity as editor.
To tweak the final sonics I cheated and ported the stems to Cubase (posibilities for this are limited in Soundation).

Judging from the sound the following setup was used:
- Analogue mixing desk, all channels at +8dB (poor mans old school compression ;)
- Bass at +12dB
- Treble at +12dB
- everything else at +12dB
- recorded at +12dB on tape (the needles of the VU-meters did not leave the right corner)
