Romanian artist Kamarius, a world fusion of spiritual, meditative & cinematic sounds. The many styles of electronic music from the prolific UK musicians Ivan Black are just a few we are featuring with their new albums.

Hi everyone, we have another array of musical gems to entertain you.  It seems we have collected many ambient styles and symphonic excursions in this edition. It’s good to see we are represented by several new female musicians. The stillness and vulnerability of Lyndsie Alguire’s music, the re-release of Danielle Boutet’s 1985 album Pieces, which borders Chanson spoken-word jazz noir and minimalism, with Claire Deak’s solo work is heightened by her experiences building unique sonic worlds and swaying atmosphere. Steve Roach’s ambient classic Structures Of Silence is celebrating its now 40th anniversary with a beautiful remastered limited edition LP, 1CD & two bonus discs created in 2013 on the 3CD deluxe edition. Best Of Sequences Vol 3:  2018 to 2020

I hope you all had a wonderful Christmas. Happy New Year. Our first edition for January features another diverse collection, including Kraut rock by the four-piece band Electric Orange and the re-release of Bloop’s 1999 album ‘Schallaufnahmen,’ performed by two members of that band, Dirk Jan Muller and Dirk Bittner. UK musician David Hughes, performing as ION, delivers a soundtrack to a no-budget student horror film titled ‘Perdition’s Flames,’ blending guitars and atmospheric synths. Our edited track from 1979 by Earthstar is taken from the album ‘French Skylines,’ produced by Klaus Schulze. As usual, we always like to give the female side exposure, with Brooklyn-based composer and producer Rachika Nayar, who has transitioned from the ghostly netherworlds of her debut to a vivid fluorescent cinematic maximalism, and Nadia Struiwigh, who echoes a free-spirited approach of electronic music in the mid-eighties, giving emotionally-charged ambience.

Another month commences our journey filled with wondrous sounds, where men and women harmonise with machines on an electric voyage, manifesting in atmospherics of interlacing moods static-hypnotic sequences diverse rhythms varied melodies and experimentation into strange soundworlds.
Making their debut on our podcasts is flutist Liesbet, seamlessly blends with ambient guests and transports listeners into a sound and visual universe. For the first time since the EP was recorded in East Berlin over 40 years ago, the music of Martin Zeichnete, a disciple of Kosmische Muzik, can finally be heard. From The Sine label C37, an emotional downbeat album captures moments of love, loss and hope. 
Ambient producer from Finland Janne Hanhisuanto has described his work as spacious and cinematic. Rounding off with Matthew Labarge, whose orchestral mood unfolds like novels and yields new insights after many listens.

We encountered disappointment with one property we were close to purchasing due to serious issues discovered during the survey.  

Given the chaos, we had a limited time to compile a significant music collection for this month, adding more titles already scheduled for May. Thus, we opted to release two distinct editions of the electronic music genre together again. In this first edition, we present uptempo tracks, sequential compositions, symphonic pieces and more, highlighting the diverse aspects of these styles.

Building on our established styles from previous editions, we present a vibrant range of melodic, modular, symphonic, and sequential sounds created by artists who have featured on our airwaves over many years.
Just a mention of Enigmatic Obsession, the creative project of Jens Gad, one of the two founders of the legendary formation Enigma. While Michael Cretu is the more widely recognised figure, Jens Gad played a crucial role in shaping Enigma's distinctive sound.

We were deeply saddened to learn of the passing of Mark Dwane on 24th July, following the recent discovery of his cancer diagnosis and limited prognosis. In homage to Mark’s remarkable talent with MIDI guitar, we have selected two tracks from the 2019 album 'Martian Apparitions,' which reimagines his 1988 debut release, ‘The Monuments Of Mars.’

We’re excited to share that these two editions will be our last for the year! In 2025, we had a fantastic variety of electronic music across many genres, which was quite inspiring. However, I must admit, I found the live scene a bit disappointing after returning from 10 years in Australia. G’day everyone from all the team at Sequences to our first June Edition,
and what a show we’ve got for you, Three cracking new albums from Melllow jet records, the visionary member of the Romanian group, Thy Veils, Daniel Dorobantu, with his new solo release,  David Wrights 1995 London Planetarium concert,  remastered, Mythos epic musical concept album based on Jules Verne’s novel, calling it, ‘Around The World In 80 Minutes, otherworldly deep space music from Andrew Forrest’s Harmonics Trilogy, the wonderful spacey flowing ambient album ‘Liquid Moon’ by Jim Ottaway and mystic experimental sounds from Traumkraft.
We must mention our new players to Sequences, Helsinki based Haraamo’s experimental ambient music, Portuguese Jos D’almeida creating atmospheric minimalist sounds, melodic sequencer driven compositions of Sequentonal, percussion laden score of Karmaben, and experience the weird soundscapes of Strange and Borderlines who make their first appearance at this years B-wave festival in Belgium, they will be bringing some very unusual toys to play with.
Lastly we come to our opening act, Sequential Dreams seventh release, ‘Legends’, guests on this amazing album are ex Tangerine Dream guitarist Bernhard Beibl,  Japanese composer Ryo Utasato and pianist Kori L Car others, definitely one for your collection.

Let's start with a bit about ourselves. We published an audio/magazine called Sequences for nearly twenty years and at the beginning of 2012 started podcasting on iTunes & more recently on Mixcloud & Soundcloud.  We publish two editions each month,  approx 3hrs in length.
I have been in Electronic music for over 50 years now, from the early experimental sounds of Karl Heinz Stockhausen, the German scene in the 70s with Tangerine Dream, Klaus Schulze, Robert Schroeder, etc through to some of the more modern, trance, chill-out, ambient music, although we stay away from techno, house, dance and the more pop-orientated stuff.
