Inspired by the music of Ólafur Arnalds and Ludovico Einaudi, I've been working on this for a month or so.  I tend to quite often over indulge in my string writing and end up with a big orchestral sound.  For this piece however, I wanted to keep it minimal and "chamber" like, so I only used two violins and a cello for the strings.

"Awel" (Ah-well) is Welsh for "Breeze" as I felt this piece had a very simple, but flowing nature to it.  The artwork is a picture of Newgale beach in Pembrokeshire, where I spent a lot of time when I was growing up.

Awel

Those of you who know me will be aware of my penchant for Techno and for strings. I've often wanted to combine the two, but I've found the results to be less than satisfactory. To be completely honest all of my electronica escapades thus far have been lacking - and whilst this isn't exactly a work of genius, hopefully this is the beginning of the electronica part of me not sounding quite so shit!
