After meeting in Ulm we decided we should try doing something together, so I took the Walhallian music by OL for a remix. The driving arpeggio is done with help of the MIDI-In on my tiny Yamaha CS-01 (thanks, Jacob Korn for installing the kit). Bionda e Lupo are like little you'll have heard before, a boy/girl band like no other. Synth wave is fed a line of modern alienation, delusory disco to a disdainful drum beat, house emptied and ridiculed. Rhythms are stark, melodies are as mechanical as the lyrics. "Zug Der Vogel" is sparse, vocals intertwine in an empty embrace whilst bars sparkle. "Twoi Glasza" is more playful. Bright words shimmer against sweeping strings. The past is parodied across the EP but nowhere more so than in "Die Kinder Aus Dem Park." A former classic dug out before being peppered by machine gun percussion. The stilted rhyme of "Eckstein" closes, a ballad of bittersweet images and lost hopes.

In the latest release from Public System Recordings we are allowed a look further into the syrupy synth dripping slowed beatdown. Kluentah delivers a chalky electro smash with elongated snares and eerie chords passing from one end of the brain to the other, and to the floor. There is smooth vocal play as well as allowing for incoherent out of context speech samples that stab through minimal jumpy drum work. As diabolical and heavy as the hits and bass is, this enters the swath of dance floor records with a distinct flavor that sets itself above others' execution. Full of sludgy breaks, there is a constant reduction even as sounds and samples are introduced, they enter the roving mulch in a stylish slide.

Whilst the world is on pause, we thought it be a good idea to showcase some works that have been moving us months before the lockdown kicked in. We wanted to share and replicate the same amount of electric vibrational emotions it initially had on us upon first listening to them, so the best way we could describe that feeling was by calling this VA series, Currents I. In this compilation theres some faces you know from the Power Station roster intersected with some soon to be Power Station release inductees, once this mess clears up obviously.
