Andre Sobota returns to microCastle for the labels 30th overall release. The Brazilian producer has continued to impress since his hugely successful 'Surrounded By Time' EP from the summer of 2012. Andre's unique melodic sound has been enchanting electronic music fans over the first half of 2013 and he continues to be a firm favourite of Above and Beyond, Hernan Cattaneo, Sasha, Eric Prydz and Markus Schulz. We're thrilled to have Andre back on microCastle for his second EP entitled 'Pulsatilla' which includes 3 brand new original productions with remixes from: Henry Saiz, Electric Rescue and 16 Bit Lolitas.

The title track has a unique and refreshing summer vibe that might just be one of Andre's most ambitious productions to date. The warm, sun drenched harmonies play off the grungy low end perfectly for what results in a wonderfully warped sounding melodic creation. This is one production that will have nightclub goers transported to a place far more magical than a dark smoky room. The lone remix of 'Pulsatilla' comes from Henry Saiz who is making his debut on microCastle here. The highly touted Spanish producer has just come off what many feel is this year's best album. 'Reality Is For Those Who Are Not Strong Enough To Confront Their Dreams' was released in early June on Henry's own Natura Sonoris imprint and has electronic music fans from around the world singing his praises. Henry's uniquely organic and abundantly musical sound has melded itself extremely well to 'Pulsatilla'. The result is a production which sounds like the perfect summer anthem. Warm, analogue grooves lay down a funky foundation while catchy vocal hooks and poignant chord changes provide the necessary emotional content which makes for one of Henry's best remix works to date.

The second original 'Full Circle' is a light and airy construction. Andre's creative imagination never ceases to amaze and his dynamic beats and delicately interwoven melodies have never sounded better here. The main break is particularly captivating with its shimmering backdrop, grinding build and idyllic harmonies. The unique melodic themes suspend in your subconscious and lead to the reintroduction of the beats for a warm rush of emotion which closes the record out extremely strong. Electric Rescue makes his first appearance on microCastle and provides the lone remix of 'Full Circle'. The French producer just released his ground breaking 'Sonic Architecture' LP on Bedrock and his unique take on techno is routinely championed by Laurent Garnier and John Digweed. For his 'Full Circle' interpretation Electric Rescue has crafted a deep techno rework that comes with an immense dance floor presence. Big character laden beats along with rhythmic stabs and dynamic fills generate some huge momentum throughout. A spectacular remix from Electric Rescue which should be huge on the techno floors all summer.

The nineteenth release on microCastle sees a very special remix package for Monaque's 'ID'. The Russian duo had an very strong year in 2010 with the huge success of their Dos3000 EP and also superb outings for Sudbeat and Renaissance. 'ID' was originally released on Kasey Taylor's excellent Vapour Recordings in October of 2009 and it was played for many months by: John Digweed, Sasha, Hernan Cattaneo, Nick Warren, Christian Smith and countless other top DJs and producers. It also appeared in the Faithless Essential Mix which aired during the last week of February of 2010. For the 2011 update two of electronic music's most cutting edge producers Marc Marzenit and Luis Junior have been called upon to remix the track.

Marc Marzenit is already a certified star in the electronic music underground with his now legendary live sets and his productions which could only be described as anabolic, epic progressive techno. Fresh off remixes for Max Cooper and Patch Park Marc has truly outdone himself on his ID remix. An engulfing big room sound with a cavernous bassline combined with a spine-tingling, metallic lead that stretches today's sonic boundaries to the absolute max. With support already in from Hernan Cattaneo, Sasha and Henry Saiz this promises to be another celebrated piece in Marc's famed discography.

Luis Junior was one of 2010s brightest stars in electronic music. He gained an immense following over the course of the year for his unique and fresh production style that combined melodies, modern day techno sensibilities and an uncanny knack for creating unrelenting, infectious grooves. “Colache” and 'BG' both for Bedrock and his remix of Cid Inc &amp; Lank's Coronal Mass for microCastle were 3 of last year's biggest crossover tracks, all which earned support from John Digweed and Hernan Cattaneo. For his 'ID' remix Luis has come up with a subterranean groove which is both momentous and deeply hypnotic. The character-laden hats and swirling atmospherics make way for some extraordinary diatonic moments. Luis has somehow managed to reinvent himself yet again with another truly original and inspiring production.The melodic subtleties and underground techno vibe are the key here which Luis has nailed yet again.

Brian's swift rise through the electronic underground has already earned him a rabid following of fans hungry for new material. The US producers dark and mysterious production hallmarks are much loved and the lead track on the EP 'Sharp Objects' showcases those very well. Backed by a powerful groove the tracks mystical textures, haunting vocal stabs and gaseous atmospheres set the stage perfectly for a twisted metallic lead. Developing mightily over a tension filled main break the luminous hooks soon summon the beats back for what is sure to be an electric dance floor moment.

The lone remix of 'Sharp Objects' is provided by microCastle label artist King Unique who is making his 5th appearance on the much revered Canadian imprint. Formed in 2001 the King Unique production touch has appeared on more than fifty remixes and has yielded some of the biggest dance floor bombs known to man, most notably: Dirty Vegas' "Walk Into The Sun", Underworld's "Two Months Off" and The Killers "Somebody Told Me". It's been another stellar year for King Unique with original productions for Bedrock and microCastle along with a remix for one of 2014's most poignant electronic music creations, 'Candyland' by Guy J. For his 'Sharp Objects' interpretation Matt has masterfully reworked the track into an acid fueled epic. Rough beats, gritty textures and liquid-like 303s all combine for what results in one of this year's most timeless dance floor weapons.

The second selection 'Caona' showcases a more tech house inspired side of Brian's studio arsenal. A foundation of rippling bass tones and detailed analog rhythms combine with dusty harmonies, treated pianos and vintage instrumentation for a truly unique creation.

The third selection on the EP and also its title and showcase piece 'Jukebox' is next and finds Brian veering into deep house territory. The US producers rich bassy textures and aquatic design have created a wonderful sonic fusion here. The records warm momentum is met with an alluring three chord lead which becomes increasing poignant as the track reaches its tasteful peak.

Remixing 'Jukebox' and closing the release out is Tom Middleton who is making his first appearance on microCastle. The UK born but now Italy based producer has been responsible for some of electronic music's biggest records over the least two decades. Written under Tom's much loved Cosmos alias, 'Take Me With You' is perhaps the most notable but an impressive remix discography that includes Orbital 'Halcyon', Kylie Minogue 'Chocolate', Underworld 'Jumbo', Jamiroquai 'You Give Me Something' and Kerri Chandler 'Bar A Thym' have all stood the test of time incredibly well. Tom's remix productions are always met with immense dance floor success and his unmistakable club grooves have melded well with the 'Jukebox' theme. Highlighted by a blissful main break and tasteful re-entry Tom's main mix is sure to be a delight with both house and progressive DJs. The deep dub finds Tom moving closer to his famed 'Liquitech' territory with smooth hypnotic rhythms and vibrant lead stabs heading the charge.

microCastle’s first offering of 2024 welcomes Adrian Roman back to the label for his second artist showcase. Hailing from Spain, Adrian Roman first rose to prominence in 2021 with a string of superlative releases which redefined his sound, resulting in an aesthetic that was both cutting edge and effortlessly cool. Fully formed within the creative confines of his Castello studio, Adrian’s first microCastle project, 2022’s‘ Disturbing the Perception’ succeeded in showcasing his inventive approach to composition, while remaining club-effective, and in turn earning play from Aera, Fideles and Jimi Jules, amongst others. Moving forward the next eighteen months have proved to be impactful for the young Spaniard, recording standout projects for AZZUR and Sum Over Histories, releases which continued to build on his creative acumen, while remaining in the playlists of underground tastemakers Ame and Dixon. With 2024 beginning with Adrian’s latest Sum Over Histories vehicle ‘Oratorical Ability’, the Spaniard now makes a welcome return to microCastle with a six-track showcase entitled ‘This Is What I Was For A Moment’.

From the opening monochromes of ‘Le Sabbat’ Adrian’s craftsmanship reveals itself across this slow-burning piece, one where grating growls, granular flares and panoramic arps ultimately set the pace for the groove-centric ‘Customized Reality’. It’s here where Adrian puts a greater focus on the dancefloor, marrying hopeful vocal phrasing and silky chord stabs for a rejuvenating experience, while a drum-driven drop ultimately charts the course for a finale of deconstructed sonics and post-rave bliss. The haywire electricity of ‘Faces of Belmez’ finds the Spaniard once again flexing his creative muscles, as corrugated bleeps and cataclysmic rhythms provide a vast sense of space, creating the ultimate backdrop for distorted synths to propel choppy rhythms into dark underground passages, and perhaps onto some of the world’s most adventurous dancefloors.

The collection’s midway point is marked by the hypno-architecture of ‘Mind Design’. Trickling reverberations and long sighs of tonal tension wade through its pulsating framework, with frayed effects and thumping rhythms submerged beneath a buzzing panoramic glow. Played by Ame and sitting as one of the project's most enigmatic tracks is ‘TAGDI’ (They Are Gonna Do It). Tinted with contemplative synths and guttural vocals, Adrian’s unique emotionality peaks here, as he crafts a low-slung, slow-building dystopian romance, all while weaving in cerebral manipulations for an unforgettable ride. The mist breaks instantly on the collection’s final piece, as your thrusted into the muscular grooves of ‘Fear Track’. Horrifying vocal stabs strike, leaving the gauzy purple skies of ‘TAGDI’ behind for a more robust romp, one where anabolic basslines, retro-arps and off kilter percussion bring the release to a feverish peak. A fitting conclusion to a diverse collection of music, one where Adrian creates a journey that speaks to the complexities of life against an immersive and challenging backdrop.

Since first appearing in 2011, Valencia based sound architect Upercent has developed a distinct brand of electronic futurism. An enthusiastic attitude towards experimentation, coupled with extraordinary creative vision has made the Spaniard one of the more unique artists to emerge in the last decade. Upercent’s first microCastle project, 2018’s 'Vuit', not only served as the imprint's second ever vinyl release, but continued the Valencia resident’s mission to create contemporary club tools and destabilizing sound explorations. Seemingly in constant motion moving forward, Upercent would go on to record projects for Diynamic, Kompakt and Watergate, amongst others, firmly establishing his place amongst the underground’s premiere talents. Now more than five years on from this elusive string of projects, it has been Habitat, Innervisions, Sum Over Histories and TAU which have been vehicles for his creative swell over the last two calendar years, reminding us of the niche he carved out during his initial rise, as he continues to maneuver himself through the confines of electronic music. With 2024 being highlighted by ‘Falling’, a two-track collaborative project with Germany’s Adana Twins, Upercent now returns to microCastle with ‘Persevere’.

Beginning with the organic monochromes of ‘Oracle’, Upercent’s craftsmanship reveals itself across the slow-burning piece, one where funked-up beats and rubbery basslines get peppered with skittering rhythms, thought provoking vocal samples and glitched-out electronics. Its subdued yet swing-heavy suspense while perfect for an astute dancefloor, also acts as an ideal segue into the hopeful qualities of ‘As It May See’. Paul Brenning’s vocals feature here, falling like raindrops atop woody kick drums and clustered sonics, eventually giving way to an interlude of soulful phrasing, coaxing beautifully with granular textures and ghostly swirls of wind, before tastefully moving forward as panoramic arps emerge for a mesmerizing finale.

Upercent’s distinct aesthetic continues on the fourth selection ‘Cult’. Perhaps the most direct composition on the EP, its six-minute running time quickly sets you adrift in a techno-inspired wasteland of deconstructed vocals and retro chord stabs. Both intimate and wide-ranging, it's a series of crystal-like drones which engulf your attention whole, creating a sombre, ceremonial backdrop for misty glitches and fog-like swells to create a scenic storyboard. Reverberating hits and twitchy rhythms fill the space of closer ‘Blau Cel’, a production where Upercent crafts a trek through mountainous dancefloor trails. Unbound by gravity, orchestral gestures sweep across mossy plains and frost-filled sighs, offering listeners another immersive journey into the uncharted realms of musical expression.

As one of the label's original artists Cid Inc appropriately kicks off the new microCastle podcast. Henri Hurtig aka Cid Inc has been an integral part of the label since it's first ever release and has delivered many originals and remixes over the last six years. For the first installment of the podcast we are pleased to present an hour and twenty minutes from Cid Inc's four hour set at Bahrein, Buenos Aires earlier this year. It was an amazing night at one of Argentina's mecca's for electronic music. Enjoy!

The 40th release on microCastle welcomes Jamie Stevens back to the label for a new EP. The Australian producer is making his fifth appearance on the Canadian imprint which follows his critically acclaimed 'The Wonder of You' EP from 2013. Jamie has achieved an amazing level of critical and commercial success over the course of his career. As one of his country’s most talented and sought after music producers he has proven his skill in professional sound design, music scores for film and contemporary electronic music. As the founding member of Infusion, the much-loved Australian live act, he’s left his mark around the globe, headlining some of the biggest and most respected clubs including; Fabric- London, Pacha – Buenos Aires, Womb- Tokyo and festivals such as Glastonbury, Coachella, Roskilde and Creamfields in Moscow, Brazil, UK and Argentina. In his home country, Infusion has received 2 prestigious ARIA awards for their work. More recently Jamie’s solo discography has been highlighted with a contribution to John Digweed and Nick Muir’s ‘Versus’ album (released courtesy of Bedrock) along with the aforementioned ‘The Wonder of You’, reaching #1 positions on Beatport in Tech House and Electronica and now regarded as Jamie's career best piece of music. Standout remixes for King Unique and Robert Babicz were showcased in the the first half of 2015 and now microCastle is pleased to present Jamie's long awaited EP entitled 'The Healing' alongside a remix from label artist Guy J.

The release begins with 'My Tears Don't Help Me' which finds Jamie crafting a deep and emotive number in his own inimitable style. Anchored by subterranean beats and a low slung groove it's an immediately compelling piece of music, compounded by vocal motifs and orchestral designs. It's a deeply moving vibe and one which comes from a real life place. In Jamie's own words "After a succession of very trying months this past year, the vocal sample I came across when making this track spoke to me sincerely. It was the perfect fit for the music I had created from the same headspace."

The lone interpretation of 'My Tears Don't Help Me' is provided by Guy J who is making his fourth appearance on microCastle. The Israeli born Malta based producer is fresh off several triumphs in 2014. Guy's 'Once In A Blue Moon' EP, released courtesy of Bedrock Records was one of the year's most critically acclaimed releases. Reaching #1 in the Beatport Top 100, its sophisticated melodies touched the hearts and minds of music lovers around the globe; it proved once again that there is simply no one better at crafting soulful sounds. Guy also readily accepted the challenge of updating one of electronic music's seminal ambient compositions, Barry Jamieson's 'Stars', released courtesy of microCastle. A daunting task and one which he pulled off with resounding success. As the collective electronic music underground anxiously awaits Guy's newest studio creation microCastle is pleased to present just his second production of 2015. For his 'My Tears Don't Help Me' interpretation Guy has put his own magical touch on the production and reinvented it for a peak time dance floor. It's tough, driving beats and big, commanding drums bring an energetic presence while a storyboard of indistinct motifs tastefully lift the emotion higher. Charming use of the vocal elements combined with a poignant breakdown of keys leads the piece to an elating finale; one which is sure to unite your dance floor for a special 3AM moment.

The third episode of the microcastle podcast welcomes label artist Khen. The Israeli producer is coming off the release of his first original project for us entitled 'Pollen Spreader'. Released earlier this month, the four track EP featured a Luca Bacchetti remix and was a huge success; reaching #10 in the Beatport overall Top 100,  #2 in both Electronica and Progressive House, and #4 in Techno. For the third edition of our podcast we've chosen a live set of Khen's recorded from his first gig at Bahrein, Buenos Aires in October of this year. It was a momentous occasion for the young Israeli artist and one which left lasting memories for his Argentinean fans. Over four magical hours he worked through an effortless flow of rugged beats, deep grooves and poignant melodies. His much loved 'Secret Shining' and 'Sunflakes', along with several unreleased gems touched the hearts and minds of all who attended that night.  Khen's approach to DJing in a way mirrors his most loved production hallmarks, where there's a compelling story unfolding at each and every moment, ultimately building to something truly special. It's certainly not a common trait amongst today's DJs and just one of many things which sets him apart from the pack. It makes each and every set a special experience just like this one here. Label artist Khen has done a special 'Bronzed Re-Edit' of his classic 'Sunflakes' track. As a thank you for the great support we received on his 'Pollen Spreader EP' we're offering this as a Free Download. The Original version proved to be one of the biggest tracks of the summer season, earning regular play from Hernan Cattaneo, Guy J and Guy Mantzur. Eventually released in mid November, the track enjoyed immense success, reaching #13 in Beatport's Progressive House tracks chart (almost unheard of for an underground record). Now five weeks later it still sits in the top 50 and Khen has given it new life with his aptly coined 'Bronzed Re-Edit'. With an indistinct take on the melodies  and new found atmospheric focus, the much loved Israeli artist has crafted another exquisite dance floor gem. It's unique combination of warm ambience and rugged grooves produce a tranquil yet raw beauty. The art of music programming is somewhat lost in today's younger generation of DJs. Growing up and opening for Danny Tenaglia, Sasha, John Digweed, Laurent Garnier and Carl Craig has instilled this art form in the duos blood. It's something that in over two decades of DJing has remained a huge proponent of their sets. One where each and every gig is an unforgettable journey with electric vibes and captivating sound stories. Although not normally performing together, Chicola and Sahar have prepared a special 80 minute mix for their microcastle podcast. Beginning with an exclusive and unreleased intro version of the duo's 'It Happened One Night', the mix methodically works its way through deep grooves and warm ambient textures, ultimately building to more distinct motifs and melodious techno, before an emotive finale takes you home. Highlighting the mix are several unreleased projects along with a few selections from their recently released EP and a few surprises as well. Partial Press Release: The 43rd release on microCastle welcomes Brian Cid back to the label for a brand new EP. The NYC based artist has enjoyed much success since his label debut in December of 2014. An EP on Hot Since 82's Knee Deep In Sound and a mini LP on Guy J's Lost & Found Records top his 2015 highlights, while 2016 holds even greater promise with a new project for Cityfox on the horizon. Over the last 12 months Brian's sound has taken on a life of its own, increasingly organic and deeply emotional, the US artist has further stretched his sonic boundaries, with luminaries such as Adriatique, Guy J, Hernan Cattaneo, Joris Voorn, Richie Hawtin and Thugfucker now play listing his music. His return to microCastle has been much anticipated and a quiet start to 2016 has only made his rapidly expanding fan base even hungrier for new material. Brian now presents his second EP for the Canadian imprint entitled 'Belles Du Shaman' alongside a remix from Eagles & Butterflies.

The release begins with the title track and finds Brian carving out one of his most distinctive grooves to date. Layered beats and mystical pads set the piece in motion before an underbelly of warm bass swells fully initiates the journey. Highlighted by soulful vocal stabs the first act strikes an emotive chord, foreshadowing a break of warm harmonies and cinematic tones, ultimately leading to a third act of timely drops and heart-warming rushes. It's one of Brian's most unique creations and not surprisingly it comes from a special place, as he describes "Belles Du Shaman is a musical story of pain & struggle as well as hope & light. The hard drums and synths set the tone for this deep, pulsating and melancholic EP, that drowns in a sea of sounds, touching every weak corner of my heart. When I wrote this track I had just visited the mountains of Utah, more than 10,000 feet up. In a night of music and stars I was moved by how powerful and meaningful a space in time can be. A land that provides us with water, food, shelter... it gives us life as well as meaning. Imagine losing this. How it can impact our life and culture as well as our history and being. The end result of all these feelings and realizations came out in this track."

The sixth episode of the microcastle podcast welcomes label artist BOg. The Romanian born, now France based producer has been one of 2016's most hotly tipped talents. 2015 proved to be a breakout year for BOg with his 'Drawing Board EP' (some of which in conjunction with Jonas Saalbach) getting released on Bedrock as well as appearances on Get Physical and Alex Niggemann's Soulfooled imprint. The year concluded with a remix of the Bedrock classic 'Emerald'. The contemporary melodic number proved to be one of the winter season's biggest records, setting the stage for 2016 and his much sought after and recently released 'Rewired EP', also courtesy of John Digweed's Bedrock Records. BOg made his label debut with us in April delivering a gorgeous remix of Mike Griego's 'Idioglossia'. It's deep, melodic sensibility proved to be a favourite with Hernan Cattaneo who charted the production at #5 in his monthly Top 20 and it also achieved success reaching the Beatport electronica tracks Top 10 while the EP was #1 in Progressive House, #2 in Electronica and #4 in Techno. For the sixth edition of our podcast we're pleased to present an hour and 20 minutes of BOg's set from the Bedrock Easter Showcase at Ministry Of Sound, London just over a month ago. Featuring fresh music along with several unreleased projects, it's a snapshot of a magical night at MOS with one of the brightest talents in the underground. Enjoy.

Partial PR: The 45th release on microCastle welcomes Navar & Mononoid to the label for the debut of their collaborative project. Dutch artist Navar returns to the Canadian imprint following his 'Moments In Life EP' from November of 2014. As one of the underground's most creative talents Navar has shaped a sound all his own, full of soulful qualities and organic design. Appearances on Guy J's Lost & Found Records coupled with a sparse release schedule has only made the love for his sound stronger. Meanwhile Mononoid, also hailing from the Netherlands are making their much anticipated label debut. First conceptualized in  2011, Andy Godderis and Igor Shumlyanskiy make up the Mononoid production duo. A string of releases on Traum got their career off to a great start and their modern take on techno has since been showcased by Einmusika, Lost & Found and Sisyphon. Much like Navar, Mononoid have been praised for their creative vision and the fusion of  these three intuitive minds was a project that had to be put into motion. Some winter months locked away in the studio has resulted in the much anticipated three track EP entitled 'Dreambox',  alongside a remix from YokoO of Musik Gewinnt Freunde and All Day I Dream.

The lone interpretation of 'Ad Litem' is provided by YokoO who is making a welcome first appearance on the label. The French born artist, long term Australian resident, now calls Berlin, Germany home where his inspiration has flourished. YokoO's unique approach to house music has touched the hearts of electronic music fans all over the world, and filled his discography with emotive creations on All Day I Dream, Musik Gewinnt Freunde and Kindisch. His warm, melodious approach has worked wonders on  'Ad Litem'. Tailoring the production down both in scope and tempo, YokoO has reshaped the track into a laid back, emotive piece which comes from the heart, as he describes "Sydney, early December 2015. A sunny day by Bondi beach, a broken heart desperately seeking understanding & healing, a desire for things to change, a pixie den, a light breeze blowing through the windows, hippies smoking weed around, 24 hours of immersion, a couple of swims and yoga classes in between . . . Et voila!"


Navar & Mononoid - Ad Litem (YokoO Remix) [Preview]

The fourth edition of our free download series welcomes label artist Brian Cid back to the imprint following his 'Belles Du Shaman EP'. Released in March, the four track offering included a remix from Eagles & Butterflies and reached #1 in Beatport's Electronica and Progressive House charts, while peaking at #4 in their overall Top 100. As a thank you for the amazing support we received on the release Brian has crafted a dark and mystical dance floor journey to give back to the fans. In the words of Brian, "Tempestad which means storm in Spanish, is an energetic cut that explores the deeper side of techno. A somewhat stripped down record that evolves into a heavy groove. Partial PR: The 47th release on microcastle welcomes Third Son to the label for his debut EP. As one of electronic music's most creative talents Joseph Thomas Price aka Third Son has carved out a unique sound all his own. The UK artist has shaped his sonic palette with a variety of influence's and compositional studies which began at a young age. The underground has fallen in love with Joseph's contemporary vision, which resonates through his tough beats, rugged grooves, modern melodies and heavy percussion. It's a sound that's led him to releases on Einmusika, Noir, Sincopat, Selador, Stil Vor Talent and Suara. Now making his long awaited microcastle debut Third Son presents his much anticipated 'Climb to the Sun' EP alongside remixes from Darlyn Vlys. 

The release begins with its title and showcase piece 'Climb to the Sun' which also features Haptic. The Australian vocalist and UK artist have collaborated on several occasions in the past. The studio synergy between the two is quite strong and 'Climb to the Sun' would have to be considered their most sought after creation to date. Anchored by a tough, triplet style groove the piece builds a dark, mystical presence early. It proves to be the perfect foundation for Haptic's vocals which fill the air with warm, nostalgic and utterly charming motifs. A cavernous break continues the dramatic yet deeply emotional storyboard before a wave of metallic melodies lifts the piece to an exhilarating conclusion. There's a compelling story locked inside this one, which has already resonated with Guy J and Guy Mantzur who featured the track on their recent b2b tour and beyond. In the words of Third Son "Climb to the Sun began as an instrumental, originally created as a closing track. The final section was powerful enough to work in a club, but I felt there was something missing to take it to the next level. Haptic’s inspired vocal work solved this."

Chosen as one of Beatport's best tracks of 2016, Third Son's 'Climb to the Sun' returns for the 2017 summer season with a new interpretation from Guy J.  microcastle has become a comfortable home for the Israeli artist since debuting on the label in 2011. Now returning for his fifth appearance, Guy's highly sought-after 'Climb to the Sun' rendition is finally unveiled. 

A deep friendship and mutual respect has developed over time between the Canadian imprint and Guy, and so impressed was he on first hearing  Haptic’s lyrical contribution to the piece that he asked for the parts to create his own mix, showcasing the Australian’s vocal to suit his own DJ sets. The end result is the ‘Guy J Field Trip Remix’, a magical and intricately crafted ten minute journey that has become a near closing track in his sets for the last eight months.

Guy J’s work is always touched with a magic and emotion that few rival. Forever drawing influence from contrasting styles, genres and concepts, he has become synonymous with creating innovative, out-of-the-box productions. Adhering precisely to that ethos, his remix of ‘Climb To The Sun’ embraces his ability to craft music that is perfectly suited to a particular point in an evening’s entertainment. The thoughtful, sparse musical intro provides the perfect backdrop to introduce Haptic’s track-defining and highly reflective lyrical contribution. Every small element within the arrangement holds a unique sonic space, crafted to perfection and precisely positioned to create an evolving and deeply emotive storyboard. It is Haptic’s nostalgic vocals that become the focal point as the music ebbs, flows and melts down to a subtle background throb, before breaking into a delicious, hip-swinging percussive section that perfectly builds anticipation for a cosmic finale. In this sense, it is perhaps a faultless creative lesson from one of the scene’s finest innovators, a true master at work.

microCastle begins the summer season by welcoming Ivory to the label for his debut EP. Based in Milan, Daniel Tagliaferri aka Ivory is an Italian producer, DJ and guitarist who has enjoyed a rapid ascent through the electronic underground. Long a favourite of Ame, Dixon, John Digweed, Lehar, Nick Warren, Tale Of Us and Trikk, Daniel’s music has found a home on some of the world’s trendiest record labels, most notably Atlant Recordings, Azzur, Bedrock, Chapter 24, Isolate, MoBlack and Kompakt. Now following his critically acclaimed ‘Hyper’ EP, Ivory presents his microCastle debut ‘No Scale Can Resize You’.

Spread across five tracks, the 'No Scale Can Resize You’ collection is a blend of dance floor inspired storyboards and contemporary electronica. Beginning with the pulsating energy and buzzing design of the Tale Of Us championed title selection, to the quirky musicality and cosmic funk of ‘Biscuit’, it's Daniel’s' borderless scope and creative vision which resonates on a high frequency here.

Every sound has been modeled to create a parallel universe, with magical creatures that speak to us through synths and sound design. Drawing this EP was like a flow of consciousness, many different musical influences converged like rivers to create a unique body of water, one that reflects the soul of these musical tales, dark atmospheres, middle-eastern melodies, robotic beats, dreamy pads, wistful strings and analogic arps; where every part is an element of the same wild land discovered during the listening. An epical journey about strength, bravery, magic, mysticism and love. An island made by incantations and charming, fantastic animals, where you can be a dwarf or a titan, it doesn't matter, every hero has his greatness in the constant search to reach his dreams."
