Rising star Joseph Edmund is back onboard Hot Creations with the insanely infectious two-track Baewatch, which follows his debut release Dreams To Reality, which dropped on the label in 2019. At the tender age of twenty-five, 2021 is set to be the breakthrough year for this promising producer. 

Spearheading the new wave of up and coming artists, Joseph has already proved his worth with a titan of support from some of the industry’s biggest and most respected DJs, such as Jamie Jones, The Martinez Brothers and Marco Carola. Delivering arguably one of his strongest releases to date, the funky cut Baewatch is irresistibly grabbing, with catchy vocal stabs and an overall nod to the earlier days of dance music. Aphrodites is a moodier yet bouncy affair that stimulates the senses intensely, with a highly infectious bassline and trippy FX. 

“At the time of making Baewatch I was listening to a lot of older dance music and that sound has always really resonated with me, the old machines and big drum sounds really slap when you play them out. I wanted to take some of that influence but give it my own groove and style on top.. and Baewatch was born! Since originally making waves in 2019 with his first release on the iconic Hot Creations, Joseph went on to secure his first No.1 on Beatport with the massive release Lose your Body on Whippin' in early 2020. Joseph's unique sound makes him unquestionably one to watch in the coming years, with an arsenal of unreleased tracks being sent out to key labels for the remainder of 2021 alongside confirmed shows at We ARE FSTVL (Paradise Stage), BPM Festival, Kaluki Summer Sound System, The Warehouse Project and many more.

As summer heats up so does Andhera Records with a massive new release, Just a Line EP, by Sunday Noise and Paul Trelles, which comes with exquisite remixes from Mihai Popoviciu and Mallin.

Sunday Noise and Paul Trelles hail from Peru, and are forefront of the scene in Lima. Between them they’ve released on credible labels like Rawsome, Tobus Limited, Distance, Miaw and Whoyostro. 

The first track on the EP is Just a Line, where tripped out vocal incidentals combine with eerily treated vocals, layered on swirling atmospherics creating an edgy late night deep and hypnotic flavour. Next up is, You Hear That, with its shuffling highs, bouncing bassline combining with the atmospherics and effortless arrangement this is absolute groover. 

The third track on the EP is Mihai Popoviciu’s remix. Popovicui is well known from his huge releases on Poker Flat, Get Physical, Bedrock, Dessous, Bondage Music and his own label Cyclic imprint, and his inimitable style has arrived on Andhera. His remix is as you would expect from him, smooth, deep, and excellently executed. With a rolling bass, and filtered pads pushed into the background, this grows in a crescendo throughout the track to where the uplifting chords drop, and smiles rise, make no mistake this is a sublime remix.

The last track on the EP is Mallin’s remix of You Hear That. Mallin’s profile has been rising the last few years via string of hot releases on labels like Glasgow Underground, Inermu, and Oh Stockholm. For his remix he delivers a sensual deep number adding a melodic and uplifting touch to the original, with a delicate short sax sample to really give this an excellent end of the night feel.

This is an absolute must have release on the fast rising Brooklyn imprint, Andhera Records, and something you’ll definitely be hearing all summer long on the underground floors of the world.

Breath-taking from the get go, the lead track West Coast Style truly packs a punch with its hypnotic, raw, dynamic bassline leading the energy of the track with the accompanying enforcing vocal samples letting you now know that this is what ‘west coast style’ really is, whilst the elemental and spacious synth melodies and stabs that surrounds the bassline emits a spellbinding vibrancy that leaves you with further intrigue and mystery.

DJOKO captures this intrigue and mystery that lingers in the original version and reimagines it into this beautiful, heavenly, minimal yet deeply intense remix that gives you this rhapsodic euphoria like you are floating in place whilst joyously raving to its soothing yet melodic structure and depth.

Carrying on this primal, commanding sound from Klein, he concludes the release with another compelling original production entitled 808. Featuring a few TR-808 drum samples with the production, its infectious and captivating groove go hand-in-hand with the bumping and swinging bassline and creamy synth stabs that flow ever so perfectly in tandem.
