Microlith – Subtle Variance

Brainwaves Corp’s profits and equity have been on a constant rise since their establishment on this planet, and so a unanimous decision has been made by the board of directors to extend the corporation’s circle of influence beyond the relative safety of the Brainwaves Geneva lakeside retreat. 

Confrontation being the only viable form of communication for most Brainwaves’ members, each board member has decided to do battle with an earth-based lifeform in order to sell the sonic results of the confrontation for corporate profit. 

The first of these confrontations was initiated by Brainwaves’ Director of Intergalactic Colonial Affairs Estebahn, and Renens-based alien punk Yolek, whose bowl haircut can be spotted in the dirtiest caves and raves in the Swiss Romandie region. As well as an unhealthy obsession for machines and herbal medicines, Yolek’s character can be defined by a lack of understanding for human inter-personal relationships, a deep knowledge of the inner structures of trance and bass music as well as a passion for heavy low kicks. 

Leck Meine Bahn is the sonic outcome of a year-long battle between these two alien sociopaths, taking place somewhere off Saturn’s icy rings, surrounded by intergalactic pirate bases on low velocity asteroids.

In this strange year's ending, and to ward off the curse, Serendip Lab offers you a nice end of year gift ! 

Unfortunately for his 10th birthday the festival did not happen this year. Nevermind, a compilation project with all invited artists since 2010 was born and what a good surprise people did answer the call : more than 90 tracks, reflecting the festival / label eclecticism and its evolution. 
From Pierre Bastien's mechanical music, present for the first year, to KK NULL's cyberpunk, whose cassette was our last release, very diverse scenes and styles are represented : psychedelic rock, post punk, improvised, concrete, industrial or rave music, synthwave, IDM, noise, rap, électro… Coming from all around France (Lyon, Marseille, Bordeaux, Rennes, Lille...), Europe (Suede, Denmark, UK, Germany, Netherlands, Italy), or the world (USA, Australia, Indonesia, Japan), pioneers or new comers are mixed, as usual, in a huge and generous party, like a big dadaist mutant family.

So thanks a lot to the hundreds of artists who have participate to the adventure since all these amazing years, to the friends, volunteers, a lot of love to the artists in this compilation, and even more to Patrice Curtillat for the mastering, and Jean Turner for the artwork, and at last a stream of love to you all, hope to meet you soon, best wishes !
