Thekla ist ein nordöstlicher Stadtteil von Leipzig. Er wird nach Süden und Südosten hin durch zwei Bahnlinien, im Osten und Nordosten durch die Autobahn A 14 begrenzt. Die Parthe fließt durch den Stadtteil. Thekla entstand im Jahre 1889 durch die Zusammenlegung der Dörfer Plösen, Cleuden und Neutzsch sowie der Kirche Hohen Thekla.

Connewitz ist ein Stadtteil von Leipzig. Bis zu seiner Eingemeindung 1891 war der Ort eine selbständige Gemeinde, heute ist Connewitz gemäß der kommunalen Gliederung ein Ortsteil im Leipziger Stadtbezirk Süd (amtliche Ortsteilnummer: 41). Connewitz besitzt eine Flächenausdehnung von 7,26 km² und hatte am 31. Dezember 2009 16.864 Einwohner.[1] Mit einem großen Anteil am Leipziger Auenwald ist Connewitz der waldreichste der Leipziger Ortsteile. Sowohl in städtebaulicher Hinsicht als auch bezüglich der sozialen Zusammensetzung der Bevölkerung ist Connewitz ein besonders vielgestaltiger Stadtteil Leipzigs.
