The Sonic Liberation Front is an initiative by platforms and artists who came together to unify their sound for Palestine and protest against the ethnic cleansing of the Palestinian people.

SYSTEM returns to Cairo, a city undoubtedly experiencing a recent explosion of creativity in underground club sonics. Central to this movement is multi-disciplinary artist @dijit , who dropped his seminal ‘Hyperattention’ LP on Manchester imprint Youth, last year to critical acclaim. Blending brooding synths and Trip Hop ambience with localised Mahraganat rhythms and cutting-edge Arabic rap - via UK drill and rave bangers - this electric and unpredictable mix showcases exactly why Dijit is one of the most exciting producers currently operating and someone you need to be aware of.

The 3rd session of El Commodino is by A7ba-L-Jelly, a cornerstone of the Cairo underground, one of my personal favorite DJs, and the force behind Jelly Zone– the party that emphasizes the more unconventional and experimental sides of dance music. For this session however, A7ba-L-Jelly took the prompt to heart and is gifting us a collection of early 2000s mainstream rock tunes, no hidden gems, just things she used to listen to during those years.

Between body and soul, there’s a thread. A thread of patience, faith.
The soul knows, the body wants.
In this slow mix, I alternate between giving in to my body’s urges and my soul’s longing. Should I be c*nt? Should I be a hermit? Should I be both? None?
I realized afterwards it was my mind that was inhibiting me, my mind that was drawing the boundary between body and soul, that was preventing me from reaping the wisdom of both.
The soul needs you to embody what it knows. Otherwise you’re still nowhere. You’re in your mind. Body and soul are soulful, body and soul are bodily.
