With this record Innervisions and mict bring you 2 remixes for the award winning 
Sudanese musician Emmanuel Jal.

The remixes come from Henrik Schwarz and Olof Dreijer (The Knife) and they were 
originally compiled for the SUDAN VOTES MUSIC HOPES campaign by MICT.

In this campaign several organizations across the globe have come together to promote
international awareness for the referendum in January 2011 in which the people of South Sudan 
voted to decide whether they wish to remain part of a united Sudan or whether they want to become 
an independent country -
9/7/2011, South Sudan's independance day.

But as always with Innervisions releases: let the music speak for itself.

house-infused remixes by Henrik Schwarz and The Knife's Olof Dreijer.

Continuing this tradition, the Vote-EP, offers renditions by Parisian beatsmiths Kirikoo Des
 and Dal-Gren of the track "Vote" by Sudanese artist Alsarah. 

These two edits are compiled for the Sudan Votes Music Hopes Remixed-campaign by MICT
 and Sudan 365 whereas the artwork was created by Paul Hamy.

ALSARAH - VOTE (DALGREN REMIX)

Third installment, entitled SVMH RMXD003 has hit shelves through Akwaaba Records. 

The piece has been put together by Tyler Pope of LCD Soundsystem, Hercules and Love Affair
fame and boasts a track by Tyler's Neo Project #2 featuring Alsarah entitled "Salam Nubia."

The B-side tune features Sudanese heavyweight "Yousif Elmosley" which has received a royal house
 remix by Berlin-based DJ/produced Edward. The artwork comes courtesy of Parisan artist Paul Hamy.

TYLER POPE FEAT ALSARAH - SALAM NUBIA

Sudan voted on April 11th 2010 for the first time in 24 years.
The idea of this compilation is to get artists and musicians across Sudan together to write election songs to encourage the people of Sudan to make a mark on their future. We have asked musicians across Sudan to produce songs calling for political participation and peaceful elections.

Artists such as Emmanuel Jal, Tariq Amin and Nas Jota are featured on this album. The message of the music is:
“Yes to political participation! Yes to fair and peaceful elections!”
The SVMH album was compiled by German singer songwriter Max Herre.

SVMH is being distributed across Sudan on audio cassettes, radio and digitally via sudanvotes.com. The production was realized by Media in Cooperation and Transition (MICT) and was financed by the German Foreign Office. In addition to the album, MICT locally produced a series of music videos and documentaries.
