Messing about with the keyboard.. i think this tune came from something i was listening to... better double check i haven't just copied it outright.

Messing about with a Bm bass line, and testing out the balance between repetition and investigation. I wonder what else this track needs to make it better. 

July boogie - approaching the ramparts

Going a bit crazy with the new sounds Lou showed me how to build. Still not sure about the synth coming over the top, can't get it quite right.. but i love the bassiness, and the accordion too. It's a rambling piece with not much repetition. 

prague spring blowing mind pollen

First draft, messing about with different bass lines, chord progressions and instruments... Haven't started to work the beats at all, that's just straight up. 

Running from thought police

Messing around with a melodic approach... this needs proper intro and outro as well as more attention to the beats... but i like the overall feel of it. Everything i make at the moment sounds like a soundscape for adventure trails in a movie. 

Winged horse over northcote

At first i was playing this on the trumpet, then i picked up the flute instead, and i think it sounds better. I like the sound of the tuba bass here, think it's my new favourite. 

Strangely i liked it more before i put the loops in sequence. Perhaps i could keep messing with it.

Opening night, the rush.

Feels like the flute and the brass are doing a dance here.. or perhaps a battle. 

I think the flute takes command with its gentle persuasion.

Michael is an adult community educator who's also studying a Diploma in Music Performance.
