Passenderweise zeichnet sich für unsere #104 der großartige Musikvirtuose MIDAS 104 verantwortlich. Wie viele Produzenten von elektronischer Musik liegen auch seine Anfänge in den Tiefen des Hip-Hop verborgen. Als Berliner Kind ist es natürlich nur eine Frage der Zeit bis man eines Tages auch Berührungspunkte mit elektronischer Musik erfährt, was in seinem Fall ein sehr prägendes Erlebnis gewesen sein muss. 

Auf sein Debüt-Release im Jahr 2013 auf Katermukke​ folgten mittlerweile etliche sehr erfolgreiche Veröffentlichungen auf so namhaften Labels wie URSL​ - Einmusika Recordings​ - Crossfrontier Audio​ - Parquet Recordings​ - Dantze​. Allein die Labels auf denen der Berliner seine Produktionen bisher veröffentlicht hat liest sich wie das 'Who is Who' der elektronischen Musikszene. Solche Erfolge kommen natürlich nicht von ungefähr, so stehen seine Produktionen für eine außergewöhnlich hohe Qualität und Vielfalt. Ein weiteres Qualitätsmerkmal ist die stetige Weiterentwicklung seines Sounds, gerade wenn man sich einmal etwas intensiver mit seiner Musik beschäftigt hat, dann sticht dieser Prozess besonders hervor. Dieser Fakt lässt darauf schließen, dass wir auch in Zukunft noch sehr viel Freude mit den musikalischen Werken des sympathischen Berliners haben werden.  

Wir möchten uns ganz herzlich bei unserem lieben Freund MIDAS für sein Vertrauen in unser Projekt und sein musikalisches Meisterwerk bedanken mit dem wir euch nun maximalste Unterhaltung wünschen.

Sweet sixteen on San Francisco's Manjumasi showcases a collaboration between bicoastal American producers: Dance Spirit (LA) and Adisyn (Miami). The results are as other-wordly as they are a natural fit, marrying Dance Spirit's psychedelic hyperspace sounds with the groove sensibilities of Adisyn. The title track "Kinships" leads the package with a sonic exploration of deep realms, showcasing the sound design skills and heady nature of this trio. "Portal From Mars" moves from innerspace back into the body, with a solid dancefloor groove laying the foundation for trippy synth expeditions.

The first remix comes from fellow Los Angeles producer DAVI, who turns up the heat on "Portal From Mars," crafting a proper late night stormer with a dark and driving edge. A foreboding and relentless energy pushes the track throughout.

Finally, Midas 104 explores another direction with his beautiful and sophisticated reworking of "Kinships." Here the groove is completely reconstructed, with broken-beat elements and subtle percussion that create space for complex melodic layering. The result is at once cerebral and deeply emotional, showcasing this Berlin-based producer's mastery of tension and balance.

Circles & Stones release their debut EP „Various Gems I" with four various artists who, at first glance, hail from varying corners of the music spectrum.

The EP opens with "Cloud 9", an ode to summer by Thomas Atzmann. Born in the morning at a time when the world is just waking up and creativity flows freely, its joyful tune and catchy breakbeat set the tone for an uplifting kind of melancholia, tugging at your heartstrings all the while. "Kabale & Liebe", in which O/Y interprets Robosonic's original version with his own recipe for organic grunginess, combines euphoric synth lines with organic percussions and haunting vocals, finally releasing the tension that builds gradually within the track's own story.

Side B begins with Arutani's slow burner "Back in Time", a track that conveys a flavour of darkness that's never heavy and always intriguing. The groove is easy, almost playing with a lightness that permeates the whole track, all the while alternating with a bassline that gives a contrasting twang and reminds us of his individual, pervasive sound. And last but not least, Midas 104 delivers a multi-layered, textured production for a perfect close called "Quixotopia". The melody cascades into waves of throbbing synthesisers, complex percussive patterns and static sounds that are characteristic of his style, and gives weight to an otherwise floating track."
