Playground Records is pleased to present “Swing Ride”, the 38th’s label reference by a dear friend of the house, the mighty Roe Deers. Almost two years after ‘Lazer in the Jungle’, his first vinyl release on our catalogue and with a bunch of hot releases on labels like Turbo Recordings and Futureboogie under his arm, the Lithuanian maverick is back with a brand new EP.

‘Swing Ride’ is a mysterious percussion song with crazy horns. It feels like the ‘Ship of Fools’ calling before setting sail, but It’s basically a club-ready track to be played in a proper dark and sweaty room.
‘Glass Around’ is a bit more raw, you might sense the expansive wave of a strong psychedelic punch. Finally, the third original track, ‘Autobahn 2002’, could work as a homage to the legendary German robots.

On the remix side, Multi Culti’s boss Thomas Von Party delivers a twisted narcotic version of ‘Swing Ride’, meanwhile Mexican geek ALF CHAMPION turns ‘Glass Around’ toward a dub-experimental mix.

At just under eight minutes the intriguingly named Zillas on Acid Ultramodern Heartbreaker mix comes in at around 110 bpm, kicking off like a pitched down long lost track off Spooky’s seminal 93 album, Gargantuan. Then at the 1.45 mark all hell breaks loose, a swirling throbbing acid line filters in and grabs you by the scruff of the neck, taking you on a hedonistic squelching trip until finally letting go, just when you’re begging for more in the final minute of the track. 

Your trip is intermittently interrupted by a wigged out vox sample ‘I’m Sorry’ like almost apologising for messing with your head in its peaked out state.

The drum track provides a backdrop to the acid lead, keeping you in check with rolling rides, shuffling snares and a steady kick. 

This monster mix of Love Interlude is out today on digital release.

Aurum Miles aka. Aurimas Milesinas is producer/songwriter/dj from Lithuania, based in Vilnius. Born in late '80s with a Queen "A Kind of Magic" vinyl in the hands. Whole childhood he was inspired by clasic rock and shoegazing brit music. Later discovered world of electronic sounds by touching JUNO-6 for the first time, what made a substantial effect in his future life. After a lot of years of practising playing guitar, keyboards, drums and everything what make sounds, Aurum Miles finally started producing some kind of weird electronic music combining rock, psicoledic and electronic sounds. Never settle to one style, always experimenting with compositions of different type of sounds - his production comes from pink to dark, from vanilla to chocolate or whatever. In short - you never know what to expect from Aurum Miles.
"Sweat and Wet" is already the 5th EP in his discography. This time Aurum Miles goes back to the roots and brings the transformation of guitars, dirty synths, sexy and dehumanised vocals into electronic weirdness. Dark, with cold emotional tone that embraces ears with cynical guitar licks, sharp wooshes and prickly main synths. 4-Tracker digital record out April 30th.

PREMIERE #933 | Aurum Miles - Sweat And Wet [Coquelicot] 2020

Release number 12 comes from the label founder Kolomensky and explores some tribal aesthetics. There are two versions of the title track ‘Mystic Rush’ — electro tool and lighter ‘disco-techno’, both filled with electrified synths, cowbells and tribe vocals. Second original ‘Jungle Mirror’ is an ambient cut with tropical field recordings, bong percussions and spacey synths which are unfolding the story contained in the track title. 

On the remixes we have our Vilnius favourite, prolific Roe Deers with groovy but unusual for him mellow version of the title track and Milan based Tagliabue who transforms ‘Jungle Mirror’ into tense and psychedelic epic trip.
