Up to some point, Russia and Romania share a lot of values, including quite a few moments in their history, so it's perfectly understandable that the music coming from their underground have similarities. As Romania sounds a bit more introspective, Russia's producers interlace their brute percussions with painfully melodic breaks. Take Shyam, as an example, with an utterly amazing techno story, built exclusively with his productions, where breakbeat patterns draw fluorescent traces over dark basslines and deep house pads.
