"Nevertale" - Album Sampler

All tracks are made using gear only. The main aim for us was to synchronize the arpeggios played realtime on hardware synths and samplers with various tempo, measures and pattern lenghts. Some of them were sampled on-the-fly and then tweaked, retriggered etc., some parts were looped and mixed with soundscapes.

I used to be a gabber in the late 90s and preferred the extraordinary forms of hardcore and speedcore produced by labels like Praxis, Industrial Strenght and Bloody Fist Records. Then I grew up and switched up to IDM, but I kept on loving gabber and hardcore. Now, 20 years later, I decided to release my inner demons. 

Btw lately I was amused and quite inspired with news about a crypto-dominatrix ( goo.gl/Gytx1V ) and a russian crypto-currency miner, who's possibly guilty in a house fire-setting ( goo.gl/tbC4qz ). Absolutely hardcore news, right? So why not to call all that a cryptocore? This word fits good with this sick music, which can be a soundtrack for the failures and errors of crypto-world.

The new EP of Sergey Baranov can be considered as a synthesis of two of his hypostases: Midimode, which has two full-length albums on Sealt label, and a post-trance side project MDMD as well. Taking the sound of last year's album "Seq" as a basis, Sergey makes a confident step towards more melancholic and broody music. Slightly floating synth arpeggios, unhurried chimes of metal percussion, scraps of voices in the background can be considered as references either to the classical IDM, or to electronics of the seventies. Each track is a result of improvisation, and the whole EP is a kind of illustration of an idea of "spontaneous music", when each track is entirely created in one session, on one emotional wave.
