'Never Enough' is the first single to be taken from 'Fragments of Us,' the 13-track debut album from DJ/Producer Midland.  The album will arrive in stores physically in Vinyl, CD & Tape format and across all digital and streaming outlets on October 4th, 2024. The album comes via Midland’s own imprint, Graded. The cover art is a photo by his brother Dom Agius, and the type and graphics are by longtime friend and designer, Nick Shea. 

The album features the voices of some Midland’s artistic heroes including Marlon Riggs, David Wojnarowicz alongside the contemporary voices of Stereogamus’ Jonny Seymour and Horse Meat Disco’s Luke Howard.

"The baby blankly stared into deep space for an endless amount of time. Surrounded by distant, meaningless signals, it floundered its head in stupid confusion. A hollow language spoken by all around it…contradicting actions and evil decisions made by the giants rising high above the baby’s chamber…a society drowning with heartbreak. Though the fragile baby didn’t understand heartbreak yet, that emotion breathed a contagious smell, and the baby already felt it deep inside. 

The dark world sat still. But right on cue, a giant, peculiar hand reached across the baby’s chamber and tapped a black robotic block. Neon reds emitted from the mechanical block and greeted the now-nearly-blind baby. The large hand lightly placed a circular shiny disc inside the machine. The hand pressed another button…this one read, “PLAY.” The music started and, suddenly, the baby felt a sense of purpose, and everything made sense..."

Ricky Mawzlin is a DJ, event organizer, musician, and all-around music nerd from Pittsburgh. He started playing in indie/post-punk/electronic projects and promoting punk shows at a young age. After years of researching and writing about music scenes and amassing vast collections of tracks, he began DJing via his party “Total Trash” at a divey gay bar.

In 2017, thanks to his love of all-things italo and disco, he co-created Jellyfish. He’s one half of Jellyfish: a duo that DJs & organizes traveling queer parties around the USA and abroad (with their home base still in Pittsburgh). Ricky’s sometimes-chaotic mixing can bounce between hi-NRG disco, to melodic techno, to sleazy house, to chugging italo, to dreamy shoegaze. Musical influences stem from both his travels along with the energy & community that the right dance floor can somehow magically manifest.
