Two of the best handheld device recordings you may ever hear of the Midmer-Losh pipe organ in the Atlantic City Boardwalk Hall.
Recorded by Harry Bellangy using his handheld pro-quality digital recorder. Stereo, recording at 24-bit / 192 kilobits per second (kbps). For the most part, this is the highest level of digital recording commonly found today. (The 2020 Christmas CD "Deck The Hall" was recorded at 32-bit/192kbps, which is extremely rare.)

This is a DOWNLOADABLE mp3 file that was posted on the Atlantic City Convention Hall Organ Society (ACCHOS) website before that site was taken down - after ACCHOS was disbanded.  This recording  is standalone and is not found on any CD - a version of the three Great blowers starting that had the previous curator Dennis McGurk yelling "Ready On The Right" , "Ready on the Left", Ready on the Firing Range!". It is unique in that regard, and it is Dennis McGurk conducting a tour.
The startup sequence is reversed from all other versions of this recording; the 100" compressor is started first.

The percussion ranks of the instrument in Boardwalk Hall were originally installed in a sealed room, and a microphone was used to get the sound into the hall's sound system. It did not work well, and the percussion ranks were moved to the right stage chamber.
Some have said that they were never able to be heard, as the rest of the instrument just simply overpowered them. That is untrue! Here are two songs that clearly show the percussion department.

Important - this is from an old magnetic tape recording and is not the  best quality. Definitely in the category of nice-to-have as we await the restoration of the instrument and new recordings. Don't slam the audio quality! It is an old recording, and even "trails off" at the end as it appears the tape broke or ran out. Still, nice to have. There are voices in the background which would indicate this was most likely a practice session with guests present.

1970's. Barbara Fesmire playing The Sound Of Music on the Midmer-Losh pipe organ in the Atlantic City Boardwalk Hall. This was recorded during a practice session many years ago (thought to be in the '70s) and was never released on any CD or LP.

These are downloadable mp3 files that were posted on the Atlantic City Convention Hall Organ Society (ACCHOS) website before that site was taken down after ACCHOS was disbanded. Most of these pieces are standalone pieces(outtakes) not found on any CD. All of these were captured during the 1998 recording sessions that led to the CD. Two of the pieces (not here) that used to be posted with these, on the defunct website, have disappeared but DO appear on the CD recorded in 1998. Ad Nos, and a version of the blower startup that had the previous curator Dennis McGurk yelling "Ready On The Right" before 'ON' was pushed. Ad Nos is on the CD, and also the blower startup.
One very nice recording found here is of the Ballroom Kimball. "Poinciana" with previous staff organist Tim Hoag at the console.
All of these were recorded in 1998 before the hall renovation. Notice the much longer reverb time on the numbers recorded in the hall (not Poinciana in the ballroom). Prior to the renovation, with the original seating and original ceiling tiles, the hall had a reverb time (RT60) of six+ seconds. Today, after the renovation, the RT60 is about 4 seconds and the organ has clearer speech.
