Toolroom are hitting the ground hard already in 2022, running with a club focused energy that sets the tone for the year. Gracing the musical pages of Toolroom once again is studio wizard James Hurr, Per QX & Elias Bravo with ‘Get Up’. Signing off 2021 by collaborating with Toolroom’s head honcho Mark Knight on his Bullets EP series with ‘Movin’, James Hurr ups the ante and takes on Per QX and Elias Bravo with a huge collab destined to get clubs shufflin’ and crowds moving until the early hours. James Hurr himself has had a rock solid 2021, with stand out releases on Toolroom, Toolroom Trax and Love & Other, James is keeping up the same energy he’s be pushing out for the past year.

On the collab this time is Per QX & Elias Bravo, Swedish natives who have an apt taste for what makes a banging House record. A pair of studio maestros who have appeared on Size Records and Simma Black with their slick and seductive house sounds.

Landing hot on Toolroom is ‘Get Up’, a Piano House weapon loaded with enough heat to light up dance floors around the world! Featuring Funk inspired vocal samples throughout with a chunky bass line keeping up the energy, ‘Get Up’ is a record tjhat just oozes class and the results as you’d imagine, are dynamite. Expect to hear this one on repeat this year period – Essential stuff!

So was mucking about with a few tracks on a disco compilation, and this was buried on the third disc. At the end. Under a blanket.
Originally it was 12 minutes long, now trimmed, tweaked, Fx'ed up, and grooved out. Found it really uplifting to work on. Hope you dig.

NYC Community Choir - Express Yourself (Pete Le Freq Refreq)

Rewind to 1990, Double Dee struck gold with their huge international smash ‘Found Love’ which became one of those all-time classics hammered by the likes of Sasha, Frankie Knuckles and Pete Tong.

Fast forward to 2022 and they're back, making their Midnight Riot debut. Linking up with fellow Italian production team The Dukes, they deliver another masterpiece, ‘Always Better’. Blending Mediterranean heat and early morning sleaziness, the energy here is irresistible, the message undeniably uplifting.

On the remix tip, studio don Da Lukas out of Palermo, Italy, nicely notches up the tempo with added tasty beats, stretching out the mix to just over 6mins, it's perfect nu-disco packed with dance floor class!

"Let It Go" is the latest single from Per Qx. It's the follow up his Hot Since 82/DJ T/Camelphat supported "Ready 4 This".

Obviously - given the title and GU's history - you're thinking its a cover of the "Frozen" classic done in an epic man-Trance style. But strangely, no. For this one Per goes deep with a beautiful looping vocal house cut. Whodathunkit?! And if you're looking for a style guide in the crazy Robin Schulz -> Innervisions world that is Deep House 2016, this one sits perfectly alongside the new records from Mat.Joe on Toolroom and Serge Devant on Crosstown Rebels.

Remixes come from tech-house don Jaceo (who delivers his usual irresistible bouncy groove) and - my own fave - Glasgow's own Illyus & Barrientos who take Per's original on a tough 2am-in-the-Sub-Club style body-jacker.
