Injecting a darker, weightier spin on the original, Lake sprinkles snippets of the already-timeless vocals over a bedrock of rolling bass, warehouse stabs and crunchy drum work.

Up next, Toolroom welcome LA based DJ and producer Noizu to the label, debuting with his remix of Mark Knight, Green Velvet and Rene Amesz – ‘Live Stream’. One of the most in-demand DJs right now, after scoring critical acclaim with his nostalgic Piano House banger ‘Summer 91 (Looking Back)’, which saw huge success for the artist back in 2020, catapulting Noizu to the very top of festival bills and tours around the world. Along with a series of releases on Black Book, Insomniac, Process Records and his own Techne imprint, Noizu has firmly planted himself as one of the most exciting acts in dance music today and his remix of ‘Live Stream’ is testament to that.

Diving deep and pulling up a Toolroom classic from the 2016 archives, Noizu delivers a powerful rendition of ‘Live Stream’, ramping up the energy of the original to a whole new level, cutting it fresh for dance floors in 2023.

Focusing on the key elements which made Mark Knight, Green Velvet and Rene Amesz original collaboration so compelling, with Noizu’s keen ear for music production and dance floor knowledge, tied together by Green Velvet’s trademark lyrical genius makes his remix of ‘Live Stream’ a serious contender for record of the year. Already a staple moment in his own sets, you can expect Noizu’s remix of ‘Live Stream’ to go off in clubs and at festivals throughout the summer clubbing season.

The house, disco and electro DJs and producers have just celebrated two decades of chart-topping releases and international shows with a special remix compilation on their own label, ‘20 Years Of Catz ‘n Dogz’ on Pets Recordings; the label bosses are also heading to Defected Croatia 2024 for an anniversary boat party like no other. Following their two-track DFTD releases ‘Inner Revelation’ and ‘No Regrets’ in 2020 and 2021 respectively, Greg and Voitek return to the London club label with prolific dance vocalist Dope Earth Alien; also a DFTD returnee following recent club hits ‘That Sound’ with Deeper Purpose & GUZ and ‘Tempo’ with OFFAIAH. Solardo’s first-ever Trick record, ‘Psycho’, lands on April 11th, hot on the heels of the label's 100th release from head honcho Patrick Topping. The sweat-inducing title cut opens up proceedings in a rugged, stomping fashion with subtle hints of electroclash. The off-balance bass makes for a wonky workout while distorted synth pressure and anthemic sung-spoken vocals send the party wild. 'Fall Apart' is another equally raw and off-kilter track with a warped bassline, gritty synths, and whirring machine sounds offset by tripped-out vocals that descend into all-out dancefloor carnage.

Formed in 2014, Manchester duo Solardo skyrocketed to fame and have subsequently become one of house music’s biggest names. With residencies at revered clubs like Hï Ibiza, their chart-topping Sola imprint and omnipresent tracks and remixes for the likes of Ultra and Defected, they continue to dominate the scene and ‘Psycho’ on Trick drives them forward in 2025.
