“Anemochory”, from the botanical term for wind-borne seed dispersal, forms the fourth Item of “Tome of Stars” and serves as a metaphor for the poet’s most desolate phase. It consists of fifteen sonnets of emotional scattering, spiritual disorientation, and theological anguish.

This sonnet captures a moment of psychological paralysis at the threshold of emotional exposure. The speaker stands poised to send another message to the beloved, following years of silence and a devastating rebuke, suddenly gripped by the torment of hoping for contact while dreading renewed condemnation. The language is of inner conflict, torn between truth and terror, between the impulse to reach out and the fear of annihilation, and it portrays a soul stripped bare, willing to risk obliteration for the chance of even the faintest reply.

Truth battles terror in a fractured mind,
I labor wild to break hell-hammered chains.
Long-cancered code, for vampires designed,
Has cost me you and bought me lasting strain.

I’ve borne your silence, flinched at bitter words,
Envisioned every tint of your disdain.
My prayer for kindness is, of course, absurd,
For miracles won’t grace my damned domain.

Your art at wounding mocks all mortal scales;
Cruel January’s poison ever burns.
Before your gates, I tremble naked, frail,
All armor useless, spirit, heart upturned.

“아빠”와 아빠의 “삶”을 바라보며 쓰게 된 곡이다. 
위로 오빠가 두명 그리고 나는 늦둥이 막내딸이다.
아빠 나이 50에 태어난 나에 대해 아빠는 나에 대해 누군가에게 소개 할 때 늘 “애틋한 딸” 이라고 소개하신다.
보통 부모들이 자식과 삶에서 보내는 평균적인 삶의 시간들보다 훨씬 짧다는 이유에서다.
그럴법도 한게 웃긴 이야기이지만 어렸을 적 가족들과 함께 동네 슈퍼마켓에 가면 오빠들이 나의 아빠고 아빠는 나의 할아버지인 줄 아는 황당하지만 재밌는 에피소드들이 여럿 있었다. 
그런 애틋한 딸을 결혼하고 최근에 미국에 보내게 되었으니 한편으론 얼마나 서운하실까 싶다.
아빠의 굽이 굽이 흘러온 삶의 이야기들을 여기에 다 하나하나 나열 할 순 없지만 나는 아빠의 이야기를 듣는걸 어렸을때나 지금이나 참 한결같이 좋아한다.
그 안에는 나는 아직 다 경험해보지 못한 삶의 희노애락 인생살이 이야기들이 있어서겠지.
그래서일까 어느덧 20대 후반의 딸로써 아빠와 그의 삶을 바라보는 애정어린 시선과 마음으로 아빠의 삶을 곡 속에 담고, 그 삶을 닮아 있는 곡을 쓰고싶었다. 

막연하게 수시로 찾아오는 불안 가운데 있을 때 삶의 의미를 헤아리도록 도와주는 건 언제나 
아빠의 몫이었다. 남김없이 수용해주는 사람. 

사랑과 존경을 담아 이 곡을 사랑하는 아빠에게 드립니다.

This tune is based on my feeling I’ve got about him and his life so far. I’m the youngest and only daughter of him. I have two elder brothers. I was born when my dad was 50 years old.  Introducing me to others, he quite often says, “This is my youngest only daughter— an amorous and beloved kid of mine.” It’s because he thinks his remaining years to live with me might me much shorter than fathers in general on this planet.

This tune is based on my feeling I’ve got about him and his life so far. I’m the youngest and only daughter of him. I have two elder brothers. I was born when my dad was 50 years old. There are some funny episodes. When I was very young I used to cling to my brothers and daddy wherever they go. Once we went to a supermarket. There counter cashier mistook me for the daughter of my elder brothers and my daddy for my grand father. Similar incidents took place almost everywhere we went.

My dad must be missing me since I came to Boston leaving him in Korea. I married last year and reunited with my husband just a few months ago here in Boston.

There is no need to mention the story of my beloved dad’s meandering long life. I love to listen to his talks from the time I was a young girl to now.
His story is full of joy, anger, love, and pleasure. It’s like a phantasmagoric  family film.
I don’t know the whole things of my life  yet. I have grown up to a woman in the latter of 20s. I have now having the affectionate eyes to see the life of my daddy.
I tried to write a tune which best express the life of my beloved daddy.

Whenever I was in the moment of confusion, he was with me and he became a rich source of encouragement and guidance.
He, a man of positive attitude accepted, me in a wholesome way and love. 

Dad! This tune is for you!
