Jem Stone's Stone Grooves Vol. 1 is a collection of instrumental jams as deep and diverse as you would expect from a venerable recording artist who has long defied being pigeonholed.   In the past couple of years alone Jem has written and produced with the legendary August Darnell/Kid Creole for TommyBoy, released singles on Freshly Squeezed, Bombstrikes and Ghettofunk, not to mention delivering an eclectic bucketful of grooves and booties from his own Soundcloud and Bandcamp pages.  

As the co-founder of seminal breaks label Finger Lickin' Records, Jem’s highly-anticpated longplayer has all the groove, punch and funk - and of course artwork - you would expect from the former-Soul of Man and label in-house sleeve artist, yet here you're invited to slip n' slide further into the depths of his rubbery soul, with luscious downtempo pieces rubbing shoulders with the funkier, chunkier side Jem is more widely-known for.

The first release on new imprint Bona Fido, the package includes a stunning 13-page digi booklet exquisitely illustrated by Jem in his inimitable Finger Lickin’ style.
