In the past I had the possibility to play some awesome venues (f.e. Distillery, about blank, goldengate, StudioR, Kassablanca,...) as well as festival’s like Nachtdigital (2008), DAVE Festival (dj Contest winner '24) and so on. 
Different releases -vinyl/digi- as well.. so check the artist page/the internet and keep your eyes open.

The birds' feathers glistened in the rays of the setting sun, foreshadowing a clear and calm night of sailing to faraway lands.

NEW HIT: Midub - Je Ráno [Moving Pictures]

The end of 2024 draws to a close and I offer up the seventh version of my yearly mixtape.  It is a pleasure to do these mixes each year and I never really know where they will end up but centred around pieces of music that I picked up over the year, that caught my ear (tracklist below).

This time it leans towards a lot of my own edits made especially for the mix, a few yet-to-released remixes and beautiful music from all over the world. I think there is definitely a focus more on precious, moving music and less towards the dancefloor. Hard to explain why, I tend not to overthink these mixtapes. 

To give you a bit of a look behind the curtain I painstakingly craft each of these mixtapes using Ableton, treating it more like an extended production than just two tracks mixed together. I end up with a sprawling mix of tracks, acapellas, synths, samples and founds sounds. A kind of patchwork of sound. Though only 21 pieces of music this session somehow grew to 162 different racks, from cumbia rhythms to kicks to take a track into a new place.

~ About The Story ~

After a long autumn walk out of Berlin in the Brandenburg Forest and Spree River at Plaenterwald (which has an old abandoned amusement park) I went back home and basically continued my autumn journey with selecting music for a mix. I tried to create an atmosphere and images of for autumn, I worked quite long on the music selection to really paint the picture and tell the story I wanted to achieve and then recorded the mix in Ableton with a delay and reverb and most tracks I also slightly edited. From rainy textures, falling leaves, sunny days to cloudy and windy atmospheres. I chose a poem to go accompany the mix.

Lukas Midub, hailing from the Czech Republic, initially embarked on his musical journey as a 
Dub-tech/Ambient project, known simply as "Midub". As the driving force behind this 
venture, Lukas Midub has made significant waves in the European Dub Techno scene, with 
his music gracing the catalogs of various renowned labels.

Within the Czech Republic, Lukas passionately creates music and lends his remixing talents to 
diverse musical acts. Notably, he was a member of a Rock/Electronic band, adding a dynamic 
facet to his artistic career. Lukas Midub's live-modular setup has taken center stage at 
numerous Czech gatherings, where he has enthralled audiences with his unique 
performances.

At present, Lukas Midub has shifted his focus exclusively towards studio production, 
channeling his creative energies into crafting original compositions that span the realms of 
Ambient, Downtempo, and Dub. What sets him apart is his dedication to utilizing hardware 
musical instruments in his artistic arsenal, a testament to his commitment to sonic 
excellence
