Tell Myself is a personal composition that I produced from scratch. I used midi instruments as well as recorded vocals and drums. I edited over 40 takes on the drums together. I included effects such as distorted vocal delays and a predelayed and gated snare verb.

Catcher in the Rye is a song by a local Corvallis band, Run the Risk. The lead singer and drummer of the band came to me and asked me to produce a demo of this song. I began with the drums and then layer bass and guitar and finished with the vocals. I created different effects for different sections of the song. Originally the mid section only featured distorted bass and the guitar solo but I suggested to them that the root notes of the distorted chords should be layered in an octave below to size up the low end of that section. Mike Gamble, a recent Masters Graduate and Instructor at OSU and Ryan Biesack, an OSU drum instructor, got together and did a few different Jams that I was asked to engineer. I set microphones on the drums and the guitar amp and clicked record. In post, I added various plugins to create space. These included compression and Reverb on the Drums to give them pop and put them in a similar space as the wet, effected guitar that was from Mike's pedal chain. I also used delay plugins on the guitar main bus to separate the audio files and make the guitar fit nicely around the drums.
