Created drum and bass sounds, based on the sound of Kraftwerk. And then bended the harmony modulations towards a jazzy, psychedelic place. And finally glitched and funked the whole thing up and added a NI Reaktor preset that sounds like R2D2 to rap a thing or two of it's worries and complaints.

Neo Existentialism

Re-embracing hope in present and past science fiction.

 A heavy dub of Nachtmusik. Admittedly the name 'New Nubia Space Station' is a bit too conceptually obvious and pretentious, but it kind of stuck. Working title was 'ambient step dub', next idea was 'Octavia Butler', name of the sci-fi novel author Octavia Butler, which in turn almost noone would understand who or what it refers to. (she is often named as the inventor of afrofuturism). 

The new name is inspired by two contemperary novels by Omar Epps & Clarence A. Haynes. 'Nubia - The Reckoning' and the follow up 'Nubia - The Awakening'. Definitely more down to earth than the 'Black Panther' franchise. Dystopic, yet entertaining and hopeful.

New Nubia Space Station

Breakbeat track with a focus on powerful gospel vocals and dynamic breaks.  This track brings soulful vibes together with driving rhythms to take listeners to church.  I had way too much fun working on this one.  The energy and emotions in the vocals just did all the work for me.  Also, the organ 🤤 - expect to hear some more organ from me in the future, because that was just too fun.

I'm both extremely right-handed and non-ambidextrous. But this track was produced using my left hand only. The album art prompting was done fully left-handed. This description was written using my left hand only. Everything took 3~5 times the usual amount of time. As a result, my feed has been silent for a month, quite the gap in my usual upload frequency. 

My excuse: I brutally shattered my right hand wrist when I took flight and crashed myself onto the pavement. I have a heap of metal inside me and beautiful surgery scars now. Wasn't it @djsian who stated "Wear Your Scars Like Medals"? I choose to live by that motto.

And trotzdem everything; I am learning incredibly many left-handed things this late in life. And I have a couple of real interesting things lined up, so my feed will probably get a lot more lively real soon. Stay tuned, do.

Devotion (Jay Edit)

Heavy breakbeat track with a focus on slamming drums and emergent grooves.  This track is rude but still has the ability to woo listeners with its contangoesly moving grooves.  Keen listeners may notice it shares a lot of commonalities with "Stray Further".  I built this track out of its sound design session repurposing the drums and making all new melodics.  So, I like to think of this as a sibling track.  Would def recommend building a sibling of you own as this was a blast to work on.
