'Seth Schwarz teamed up with his funky fellow Be Svendsen, and together they created something that has the same UV index and the same amount of fresh air as a festival with perfect climatic conditions. The Eden EP will drop on Friday, July 6.

During its epic 10 minutes of play time, their highly melodic track “Elves of Karoo” grows just as big and exciting as a full weekend on a dancefloor bathed in a generous amount of direct sunlight. Seth Schwarz also includes on his forthcoming EP, the solo track “Quando Rando”: which is slower but just as compelling. The single reflects the classical composition skills of Schwarz in an intriguingly subliminal way. Furthermore, the amount of great producers who contribute remixes for this EP continues the narrative of a creating a perfect festival, as well – a festival for lovers of catchy yet sophisticated dance music, that is.'

'Italian talent Ruben Mandolini joins Josh Butler’s Origins Rcrds imprint in late July to deliver his ‘Be Sensitive’ EP.

Founded in late 2016, Origins Rcrds has quickly become a go-to imprint for material across the house spectrum, boasting support from key players including Jamie Jones, Joris Voorn, Seth Troxler DJ Sneak, and Anja Schnider, whilst releasing material from Kerri Chandler, Huxley, Nick Curly and Bontan to name just a few. Having previously released on the likes of Saved, Stereo Productions and Sanity, not to mention his stand out 2012 single ‘Also!’ on Snatch!, here we see Italian DJ and producer Ruben Mandolini make his label debut with a slick two track offering on Butler’s Origins Rcrds entitled ‘Be Sensitive’.

Title track ‘Be Sensitive’ opens the EP in style as Mandolini combines a medley of crisp drum licks, classic vox samples and interjections with vibrant snare rolls to reveal a kinetic lead cut aimed at the dance floor. On the flip, ‘See The Blues’ takes up a more stripped back aesthetic, employing rolling percussion, infectious vocal hooks and rich pads amongst weighty kicks to shape up the release with authority.'

Be Sensitive EP

'Focused towards house and deep techno, Whistleblower is a label founded by three music producing friends; Alan Fitzpatrick, Reset Robot plus Rhymos, and this new release is a three track EP from a mysterious artist going by the name Somnium.

So far, Whistleblower has featured mainly tracks from the label owners themselves and was the original outlet for Alan Fitzpatrick and Reset Robot’s collaborative alias Customer before their EP’s on Mobilee Records.

Simon Baker has to date been the only artist outside of the labels owners to release original material on Whistleblower, and out of the labels eighteen releases, Somnium joins him as the second member of whistleblowers extended family.

Kicking things off is “Young Giants” and its eloquent melody leads into a dark and twisted bassline as the track transforms its mood from uplifting to sinister. With throbbing tension, the grinding low end frequencies give the track an ominous presence sure to set the dance floor alight.

Track two “Seraphim” is melodic cut with intricate synths layered between stripped back percussion. Almost orchestral, the track’s vibe has an uplifting trajectory that lifts like a bird on take-off before soaring high above trees. Delicate and exuberant, this highly emotive piece of house music is brimming with personality.

Finishing the EP is the shimmering sound of “Chiron” and its interstellar synth pads that have combined to create a cosmic soundscape of texture. Vast and spacious like the expanse of space, the track’s clean cut production has a steady momentum and truly captivating mood.'

'We have been keeping an eye on the skills of Mattia Pompeo for several years and we can say now that he has changed his status from promising to proven talent. He’s back with three powerful original tracks and a huge AFFKT remix, and altogether create this Arctic Circle EP.

Mattia comes with some fresh air from the North to refresh the heat of this summer ’18. On ‘Circle’ we find a hypnotic leitmotiv along a vibrant bass and some analog percussion. All the story is completed by an amazing guitar with an eighties touch. Sincopat’s captain AFFKT offers a different vision of the track providing a super groovy rhythm plus a second thick synth to the cocktail. With ‘Blanc’ you will get a splendid bubbling bass and just a few elements properly placed to get the best on the dance floor. For ‘Arctic’ Mattia develops a new line of treatment focusing on a new monster bass that will surround everything at the dance floor. An epic flavour is added with some delicate strings and pads.'

'Moonless Air is back with a fantastic fourth release, this time from Piemont. The taste-making duo have long been turning out essential dance music tunes that keep the underground alive and now they do so again with two more terrific cuts after many releases on labels like Glasgow Underground, Toolroom Records, and many, many more.

Surrounded is first and is a lively tech tune with a busy synth line dancing about and bringing real dynamic to the groove. Big synths add drama and the rumbling baselines keep you moving. It's a crisp, well executed tune with plenty of fresh flavours. 

Sleepyhead then pumps the deeper end of the house spectrum with slick drums and hi hats and flowing bass. It’s melodic and hypnotic with dreamy vocal sounds and is sure to get the floor into a trance. 

This is another terrific pair of tracks from two of the best in the game. '

Art Alfie is busy these days: besides his involvement with Toy Tonics he started an own label (Velvet Pony). ​Even if you might know him mainly from the kick-ass dancefloor stuff he has been doing with Karlovak and the Studio Barnhus gang - there is some more complex background here: Alfie used to play in hardcore and psychedelic bands and has a real golden hand when it comes to work with musicians. In fact currently he is also producing some stuff for Swedish supergroup/hotshot band ‚Off The Meds‘!

'German house music veteran Stefan Braatz adds to his already prolific discography with a fresh new release on Steve Bug's evergreen Poker Flat Recordings. With this release, Braatz, whose affinity for groovy chicago house has long been evident, enlists the vocal talents of Merwyn Sanders, one half of the legendary Chi-town duo Virgo Four. 'Realize' is a low slung groover, with a thick bouncy 303 bass line and tight, funky drums. Sanders brings his decades of knowledge to the track, his iconic half sung half spoken delivery adding a new level to proceedings. Accompanying this vocal version is an instrumental for the DJs - perfect for those moments when it's time to strip the mood back to the basics.'

'Apollo Music Group is an audio venture between Chicago residents Dan X and DJ Heather plus UK based artist Lil’ Mark, and the label’s new release is from the hotly tipped Burning Bridges.

American artist Burning Bridges returns to Apollo Music Group following a remix he did for the label at the end of 2017, and this is another fine example of his party style similar to others such as Green Velvet.

Along with the aforementioned release on Apollo, Burning Bridges has also featured on Chuck Daniels label Sampled Detroit, where his first solo EP proved so popular that Stacey Pullen arranged to have both the tracks licenced to his recent mix compilation on Carl Craig’s Planet E Communications. His second release went on to include a collaboration with Sampled Detroit label boss himself adding yet another seal of approval to his work.

The opening track “In Your Eyes” has already picked up plays from Claude VonStroke, and anyone who has heard one of his recent sets might recognise the memorable vocal. With a bouncy groove and techy elements, its stripped back sound is made for the dance floor.

“The Vulcanator” is second on the EP, using ominous bass stabs and vocal phrases, the dark atmosphere combines expertly with jackin’ percussion. Captivating and quirky, it’s a great party starter that stands out from the crowd with its charismatic style.

Closing the release is “Lose My Mind” which in a similar style to the first two cuts, is focused on uplifting vocals with a more sinister sounding bottom end. Raw and funky, this final cut is something of a diva with its headstrong and flamboyant energy.'

'Yulia Niko’s star continues to rise as she brings her tantalizing techno touch to Rebellion this August. The EP provides two original cuts alongside a remix of from Romanian stalwarts Livio & Roby. The real-life Casa en el Agua is a little thatched-roof guesthouse set just off the shores of Colombia.  “It’s two hours on the boat from Cartagena, just in the middle of the ocean ”  Yulia explains.  “The EP is a dream story about a paradise island and all my feelings about it.”  Using field recordings made during her stay at the guesthouse, the EP opens with  Casa En El Agua - a dreamy and melodic techno number. Livio & Roby follow suit with a hypnotic touch, pitching the track down, adding a mysterious vocal hook. Second original,  Last Home  is a delicate, emotive track that employs a bounty of drum pads.'

Chicago's Incorrect Music returns with a star-studded EP this August featuring British producers Huxley and Montel with a remix from New York legend, Harry Romero

British stalwarts Huxley and Montel have been etching their own paths for years across dancefloors and various Top-100 charts with their productions featured on the worlds biggest House Music record labels.  Here we see them finally coalesce talents with a driving and soulful 3-track EP on Chicago-based imprint, Incorrect Music.

The title track, 'Want Me' is a chunky, bass-driven groover with soulful vocals that ease the toughness of the track into a sure fire house anthem.  Chosen specifically by Harry Romero to remix, 'Funny You Should Say That' lends the release a peak-hour driving selection with filtered synths and sexy pitched down vocal loops.  This one is set to be a hands-in-the-air hit when the club is bubbling and the dance floor is packed.  Harry's rendition goes deeper and reverses the synths into a warp-like soundscape while stretching the vocals out over long periods of the breakdown for accelerated drama.   Finally, the track that has been reaching more and more A-List Artists playlists is 'Bradleye' which essentially fuses both it's predecessors into one amalgamated weapon of driving groove with stuttering vocals and a classic acid line on top for a dash of rave.

Now as the summer season winds to a close Cid Inc. presents the much anticipated follow-up entitled ‘Bird Cherry’.

For an artist who has captured the imagination of progressive music fans for over a decade, Cid Inc. has raised the bar yet again with ‘Bird Cherry’. From its lively beginnings you’re immediately captivated as tight beats, buoyant bass tones and finely tuned percussion converge for the ultimate rhythmic wave. Sparse yet timely, ghostly effects add further anticipation before crunchy stabs steal the air as the main break commences. The centerpiece shifts the narrative into emotive territory as blissful harmonics and warm chord changes lead to a swirling synth vortex for the ages.
