Dear breaking community, be careful, I brought you something. Creativity was just bubbling out of me in the last few months at the beginning of 2023 and that's why the new album is pretty packed with 32 exclusive boom bap breaks, modern clean breaks and funky gems.

The time has come again. Another very positive, creative and also constructive development of my career as a producer is progressing incessantly. My new double album "Back to the beat" (Parts 1 and 2) will be released on 21 of April 2023. And I'm really very proud to be able to present you with a fine selection of top-class boom bap breaks, clean modern beats and funky breaks.

Dearest Break-DJ friends, feel encouraged to play my songs at your sessions if you contact me in advance, of course. I will be happy to support you musically and amicably with my repertoire. One hand washes the other and the community should always stick together. Please think outside the box and never forget, everything comes from the scene for the scene. If we support each other, the support becomes self-perpetuating and the entire breaking scene benefits from it. Personally, I don't want a commercial career. I want a thriving and supportive breaking scene. Point!

With this message I would like to sincerely sweeten the day or the night. For you it looked like it had become quiet around me for the last few months. Posted a post here or there, but it wasn't and isn't like that. I was more than busy and worked on my musical development, if you can put it that way. With today's date, I'm presenting you with another milestone, in three senses. On the one hand, I do believe that I have developed myself musically and musically, but anyone who knows me knows that there is no standing still. Secondly, you don't have one album here, but two albums in front of you, because I have decided to bring this double album "Back to the beat" closer to you in two parts from a current production repertoire of over 60 new songs. And last but not least, I can announce that the release of the rest of the songs will follow soon, because some collaborations with other artists have already started and we will continue to do our best for our breaking community with great new songs. Stay tuned!

Breaks Mix 2013  - (Sunday Mix)

This episode of the Dusty Handclap features a guest mix from 'Straightin it Out' (SF) resident DJ Jerry Nice 

Straight up, Hype Raps is an ode to an era where moving the dance floor was king.  
 
In the late 80’s through early 90’s, a mixture of diverse sounds dictated the nightlife & hip-hop as a genre didn’t shy away from finding influence within these various styles.  Whether artists were inspired from trends of the time (James Brown samples, New Jack Swing, UK dance scene, Soulful House, etc.) or created a sound all their own, keeping things uptempo was a must. 

Many of these dance-focused tracks could be found as album cuts, b-sides, or remixes - with the occasional lead single getting heavy rotation as well (either organically or from label pressure).  Like any form of popular music, it was up to the tastemakers to push the good & save the lame for the rest. 

In the same vein as his Dance Raps mixtape, Jerry Nice taps into another distinct moment in hip-hop, this time paying homage to the artists & tracks that kept the masses hype during peak hours.  The songs within this mix reflect those that never left his “play crate,” acting as the backbone & main source of inspiration for this project.
