BURNIN' FUEL ! - Outside Looking In

Knapp zwei Jahre nach ihrer Gründung und nach zahlreichen regionalen Auftritten – unter anderem auf der Maiwoche 2019 in Osnabrück und dem Hütte Rockt Festival 2019 in Georgsmarienhütte – ist es nun endlich so weit. Die Band Blood Red Mammoth hat ihr erstes Demotape fertiggestellt.

Unter dem Titel „Kill Box“ wurden vier der populärsten Songs vertont, die zugleich den unverkennbaren Stil-Mix der Band wiedergeben – Stoner vereint mit Stilrichtungen wie Doom Metal, Psychedelic Rock, Bluesrock, New Metal sowie Hip-Hop.

PAWER ON! Mit einem Klick des „Mighty Martens“-Gitarrenpedals auf dem Cover unseres Albums wird der geneigte Hörer zurückkatapultiert in die Zeit der mächtigen Powertrios der 60er und 70er Jahre: hier gibt es ehrliche, handgemachte Mucke auf die Ohren. 
Stilistisch sind die MIGHTY MARTENS breit aufgestellt, es gibt eine räudige Melange aus Rock, Blues, Hardrock, Heavy Metal, Funk und hier und da Spuren von Doom und Southern Rock. 
Das Fundament, auf dem dieser Schmelztiegel steht, ist der Bandsound, geprägt durch Karlis dreckige Vocals, seinen noch dreckigeren, fuzzigen Basssound, Franks fetzige und dynamische Gitarren und Bastis wuchtiges Drumming. Eben eigenständiger PAWER-ROCK. Das ganze herrlich antiquiert dargeboten mit Tonnen von Gitarrensoli, der ein oder anderen Bluesharp, aber auch mal experimentellen Passagen. 
Oder wie das „Gitarre&Bass“ Magazin schrieb, als es unser Album „Pawer On!“ im November 2022 in der „Yoursite“ Rubrik zum Newcomer des Monats kürte: „(…) ergibt das eine ganz eigene, oftmals auch psychedelische Retromischung mit viel Druck und Spaß in den Backen“
Und so ist es, ganz genau.
