My PlayAlchemist set was by far gonna be my biggest set of the week. It simply wasn't meant to be as the rain shut down their camp for the rest of the burn (big time sad face)! I spent a lot of time crafting this set with the vibe of this epic camp in mind and re-recorded it in hopes that the energy and vibe I intended can be captured a bit...this set was meant to be played from 12:30am to 2:30am so clearly I planned a bit more than that with the intention of playing the section(s) that felt best in the moment.

Burning Man 2024 - Thurs. 2:30am @ Soundgarden
Wow - this was a really special night. So many incredible dancers beautifully and enthusiastically expressing to my set. Behold 2 hours of unplanned and spontaneously DJ'd deep melodic beauty, uplifting global vibes and transcendent joy.  

As an exploration of world music this house mix spans many continents and cultures, one whose coda ultimately concludes with two remixes that, while they were somewhat a deviation from the theme of global sounds, they perfectly summed up the collective heartspace of those deeply vibing wee hours at Burning Man. 

Massive thanks to Mark Duncan and crew at Soundgarden (2:00/Gobsmack) for creating an exemplary space for music and the movement community.

What a way to close our beloved Full Moon Gathering this month! Dive into the magic of our recent 4.5-hour closing set under the October full moon in the Mojave Desert, a celebration brought to you by Moontribe. As the sun set, we lost ourselves in a captivating blend of organic, tribal, deep, and world house music. Despite the heavy winds and sandstorms, I am immensely grateful to everyone who joined us on this unforgettable journey. Warming up the dance floor on the opening night of a legendary Tropical Campout meant that I had to reach deep into the repertoire and build up the energy from a few people bouncing to a full dance floor frenzy. The weekend featured the likes of house & techno greats Oona Dahl and Sunshine Jones as well as 7 different crews joining forces to create a magical experience: Cheeze House Rekords, CUE Together, Love, Soul & House, Terrakroma, and of course Tropical.

LIVE @ MEMBERS HOLLYWOOD - 3OTH BIRTHDAY SET - JULY 2024

Here is my birthday ED mix from last Sunday. I had such a blast delivering this one. It was received beautifully. One community member said "they went the deepest they had gone in an ED". Sharing the sacred medicine of music within our Dance Temple here ,was the best present on my 39th birthday. We had about 120 members attend, across all ages and body shapes. A girlfriend brought her three month old for her first time, which was pretty special. 

What we resist persists. In order to heal, we must feel. This dance invites you to feel what's bubbling within as you express yourself through movement. The call is to feel all of it.

We had a mirror on the altar and I invited our community to look into the mirror for any chosen period of time 15, 30 or 60 secs. To stare into ones eyes and feel what comes up! It is such a powerful exercise. 

May this mix invite you to feel what arises for you and may you honour and hold the feels. All feeling is welcome and when we can cultivate this holding of what is, we can shift our suffering. Let's begin with a trusting "feeling it" is simply a practice for our own inner transformation.

Comox Valley Dance Temple ~ FEEL IT ~ Feb 2. 2025

This recording has been on repeat in my headphones for the past couple of weeks, ever since I re-discovered it! The setting was daytime in the desert, not too long after sunrise, and because it was October, the heat was not overbearing at all. The wind picked up towards the end, and the dance floor held strong -- Moontribers know how to get down in any condition!

I hope you enjoy this melodic, progressive journey as much as I do.
