Toronto-based producer Jason Hersco makes his Salted debut and showcases his sonic flavors and creative skills as he delivers this unique offering. Weaving his way through deep melodic layers as warm synths, bold bass grooves and tantalizing vocal hooks balance out the scales.

Including Migs re-interpretation of "Dream Girl" maintaining the soulful feel of the original version while providing a moody dance floor appeal as an alternate option to the package. We hope you enjoy the grooves.

On his way to ADE, Jo Paciello found himself sitting near a French DJ who wouldn’t stop talking about jazz - “Le Jazz this, Le Jazz that…" Instead of tuning out, Jo did what any great producer would do: He opened his laptop and started laying down the groove. By the time he landed, the foundation for Le Jazz was set.

With deep roots in the house and disco scene, Naples-born Jo Paciello has always had a knack for blending classic influences with modern club energy. Le Jazz is no exception - swinging rhythms, soulful textures, and a groove that’ll keep you moving.

When Kassko first wrote the melody for Good Things Take Time, something about it felt deeply true but it sat on the shelf for a while. It wasn’t until close friends pushed him to finish it that the track found its voice. The result is a warm, heartfelt groove rooted in the lesson that not everything needs to happen fast – some things need space to grow.

The second track Falling For You was crafted with Osman Meyredi and vocalist Stephanie Laurence. It tells the story of a looping relationship – hope, heartbreak, and the strength it takes to finally let go.

DJ, edit maestro, buyer for Juno records and founder of the excellent Mukatsuku imprint, Nik Weston is no stranger to the world of afro- centric music. Having fallen in love with our two recent reissues of ultra rare records by Ghanaian afro-disco pioneer Rim Kwaku Obeng, Nik got to work re- editing a track from each release. Both versions are now extremely DJ friendly. "Love Me For Real" by Rim & Kasa is an instantly seductive disco killer with an ever-growing groove, cleverly looped up by Mr Weston for maximum impact. "Gas Line" has a real funk edge thanks to it's tight horn section and call-response vocal. Nick's edit takes it new heights, keeping that addictive groove going and going.

Oby Onyioha is a Nigerian singer and songwriter. She was born in Lagos and brought up in the eastern part of Nigeria. Her father was the Head of the Godian Religion. With its message of universal unity and its philosophy of “biri ka’m biri” (live and let live), Godaism seeks to bring harmony among the people of different religions in spite of their diversities. 

Raised in this philosophy, Oby Onyioha first burst onto the Nigerian music scene in 1981 with the album “I Want To Feel Your Love” (Time Records Nigeria) which was named after her hugely successful single of the same title and also includes the two-stepping, finger snapping song “Enjoy Your Life”, with classic strings and freedom love themed lyrics making it a motivational anthem one cannot resist to dance on. The debut album was a huge success and took the Nigerian music scene by storm, at a time when disco music was considered the exclusive domain of western artists.

Soundway Records present ’24 Hours in A Disco 1978 - 82’, 7 cuts of relentless disco grooves from the sublimely gifted Kiki Gyan. Hailed as Africa’s answer to Stevie Wonder, Ghanaian multi-instrumentalist Kiki Gyan was a musical wunderkind who by 1975 had risen from the lowly status of high school dropout to being ranked eighth in a poll of the greatest keyboardists in the world (occupying the rarefied air of the top ten with heavyweights like Steve Winwood, Billy Preston, and Stevie Wonder) as well as becoming an in-demand session player in the top recording studios of London - all before his twenty-first birthday. 

Out on his own, he produced a series of highly ambitious disco records aimed at positioning him as an international star, but weighed down by the excesses of the era, Gyan saw his meteoric rise matched by an equally swift fall back into obscurity. 

Loved dearly by his contemporaries and sorely missed since his death in 2005 the story of the life of Kofi Kwarko ‘Kiki’ Gyan is one often told with warning by his friends to the new generation of aspiring Ghanaian popstars.

Soundway Records now collects the best of Gyan’s work as a frontman and solo artist, featuring an array of electrifying disco grooves that still sound contemporary (and in some cases futuristic) decades after their initial release.

Released on CD and 2xLP both formats are accompanied with detailed liner notes written by Uchenna Ikonne. LP version comes with a free MP3 download of the release.
