Bonobo Boiler Room London DJ Set

Shaun Reeves, one member of the Visionquest power force, teams up with good friend and industry veteran Alexi Delano for the next release on the label with two solid cuts that are deeply mystifying and hypnotic while packing plenty of groove for the dance floor. Title track ‘The Breeze’captures the senses with warm, dubby synths flowing and rippling throughout, evoking a sense of melancholy enhanced by Charlotte Carter-Allen’s vocals, while ‘The Mistral’ rides with a deep chugging bassline as the mesmerising vocals float and echo through the deep vortex. Over on the B-side, one of Visionquest’s favourite producers, the highly respected Thomas Melchior aka Melchior Productions Ltd is proudly welcomed onto the label to remix ‘The Breeze’, adding his unmistakable groove and distinctive percussive patterns. This is certainly a package not to be missed.

Born in Chile, raised in Sweden and later adopted by New York, Alexi Delano now lives in London. Over his two decades in the industry he has developed a style, which combines the heavy compressed Swedish sound with the vibrancy of the creative music scene in Brooklyn. Releasing on established labels such as the historic SVEK, Plus 8, Minus, Drumcode, HProduction and many more.  Now in 2013 Alexi Delano is finalizing his 6th album “The Art Of Collaboration” for the Swedish Techno label H-productions as well as relaunching his own record label AD Limited whilst continuing to write original pieces for a string of projects.

Hailing from Detroit where he ran parties booking the likes of Magda and Dan Bell, Shaun Reeves has now lived in the techno city Berlin for the past nine years. Playing at all of the top venues and parties in the world on a relentless touring schedule and spending every spare second in the studio, Shaun’s dedication to the job is second to none.

Thomas Melchior is well respected as a solo artist and as a duo alongside Baby Ford under the moniker Soul Capsule, releasing on the likes of Perlon, Playhouse, Smallville and a:rpia:r. Earlier this year they rereleased the classic ‘Overcome Ø Lady Science’ with smashing results.

As a balearic artist, the balearic house sound is in his blood and you can feel that in his tracks, which often feature that foot tapping and head bopping groove that is synonymous with underground house music. His very first releases quickly hit the charts on Beatport, and for more than 15 years, Frink has celebrated over 70 chart topping releases, which have been played far and wide by DJs all over the world. Fast forward to now and since 2020 Frink has been crowned as one of the top 14 most charted artists within the Deep House genre on Beatport.

Not only that, Frink can boast over 19 thousand monthly listeners on Spotify, all of which are real and organic and not linked to any paid promotion with his success coming from the music itself. He prefers to be a man that keeps himself in the shadows of the underground and let the music do the talking for him.  


As a DJ, Frink has played in many countries across Europe including Sonar Festival, ADE and in Ibiza and it is normal to find him laying down vibes at Sisyphos in Berlin. He also has residencies in Mallorca such as at Mysa and can often be found involved in showcases for record labels Expmental Records and Berlin label Bondage Music. 

We caught up with Frink to find out more about his new release, the tranquillity of Mallorca and his love for the German capital.

As well as his impeccable production skills, Mihai has gained recognition, both in Romania and abroad. 	Every artist has a signature. Mihai Popoviciu is no exception. For over a decade the amiable Romanian producer and DJ has built a body of work characterised by deep grooves, crisp precision, and irresistible energy.
	Mihai's singular vision was born in his home town Sibiu (still his home base) which, at the time, lay on the fringes of Europe's thriving dance scene. It was the early '90s. Electronic music was flooding London, Ibiza, Berlin but only a trickle reached his ears. "We would tape German TV shows onto cassette and listen over and over," he recalls.
	With no clubs, record shops or dance culture to speak of Mihai's dream of being an electronic artist seemed remote. He studied architecture and briefly worked in the field, but it was house and techno, not house-building, that was his true calling . "I couldn't DJ, because there were no clubs," he says with a chuckle. But he could buy software, so he started making records. Lots of records. Sometimes one per day, for months on end. The work of the determined young artist began to catch people's ears. His first track was signed to International Deejay Gigolo in 2005, and dozens of releases followed on imprints including Bondage, Highgrade, Poker Flat, Bedrock, Dessous and also his own label Cyclic, established in 2012.
	This calm determination became Mihai's trademark as his career blossomed from production to DJing. After honing is skills in the studio he learned to DJ (on borrowed decks) and began drawing attention in Romania and across Europe. Playing international gigs was a big move for someone who grew up only seeing clubs on TV but Mihai stepped up with professional aplomb. His CV now includes the best clubs in Europe and around the world, from Berghain and Watergate in Berlin; to London's Fabric and The Egg; to D-Edge, São Paulo; DC-10, Ibiza; and more.
	Mihai's ambition with every track and every DJ set, is to transmit the joy and energy that fuels his dream. "It feels great to see people dancing, smiling, having a good time. No matter what I do, that's the main thing." 
	He is equally at home in underground clubs or on festival stages. The one thing that stays the same is his artistry and irresistible delight in music. "Mihai was on his sound from the beginning," says friend and booking agent Benny Grauer. "It has a unique quality. Any time you hear it you know, "That's Mihai". He's done it for years, and it is perfect."
