So Abraham and Jas and Mo, said we'll tell you the way to go.
Any dice you throw  They won't be sixes.
You twist and turn, seek power and fame, the destination is the same.
No matter who you blame. It's all sacred.
If your life seems too remote, give to faith your protest vote.

The T shirt said we'll occupy, and show the world the total lie. 
'cause all the bad guys fry If we just want it.
They can't build if we undermine, 'cause revolution just takes time 
and everything will be fine I can feel it.
Make those in power on action choke. So Fight! give up your protest vote. 

Snake Oil, man says there was a time, when everything was dandy fine
and in this land there was no crime, believe it.
So build a navy and a moat, and backwards into history float
Nostalgia, bread an circuses you got it.
And of your needs I may take note......... If you give me your protest vote.

The media man gives power to claims, his stories they damn all the same
the others are the ones to blame, incitement.
Headlines spit and share the bull of editorial renewal
Whatever sells the papers rules, enticement.
As long as you buy what I wrote. Fuck you and fuck your protest vote.

Where is the man who stands up tall,Unto the mass in not enthral
To the rash minority is not beholden.
A signpost not a weathervane who'll stand their ground and not be swain
for right and not the popular be broken.
A man who  for humanity spoke. 
Well there I'll put my protest vote.

Protest Vote

An old set of Lyrics that were set to an angry tune. But they never really worked. Many years later and I'm not in that angry place any more. So the lyrics have been tweeked and put to a tune more in keeping with their feel.

This is also the last of a collection of ideas first put down in 2011. Much has happened since then. The loss, too young, of a dear friend and the birth of my first child.
I shall now put that folder of ideas away and start 2017 with a blank page and a new hopefully more productive approach.

I was an Angry man when I wrote this one. Lyrics are a bit of a rant against politicians. Though could be against my ex? :-) The Moriconie style mid 8 hopefully suggests a stand off?
Written December 2005. Recorded 2009 to 2010.
Drums need to be completely re-written and the whole mix is needing redone.

Head in the Sand

Silly little ditty. The basic 7/4 melody part came to me in a Hotel room in Barcelona and I've fiddled with it on an off for a 5 years now. 
But I wanted to try out a new piece of Music Scoring Software and it seemed suitable to use as an test piece.
I also wanted to try out background effects. I'd tried some in the tune "The Great Unknown" and though about  how the mixing would be a challenge.
It's far from perfect but I'm not going to spend any more time on what is essentially a throw away ditty, but I've learned from it.
THE SOFTWARE IS CALLED MUSE. Recommended.

Copper Coated Heart

I'm just having a bit of fun with my creative side. Now I'm not a musician as you will hear, but I either spend time learning to play an instrument or write songs. There is a compromise here.
So if there's a band or musicians out there that would like to take some of these tracks and work with them. Go ahead within the CC licence.

Eventually when I get a reasonable body of work together I'll start getting rehearsal rooms organised, gather musicians and learn to play one instrument well enough to gig....eventually.
