One hundred & thirteen brings Italian born, Berlin based Notte Infinita to the series. A mesmerising bass driven journey.  The euphoric, rolling mix of deep techno, bass & beyond is reminiscent of Notte Infinita's impressive productions. Having released music via  @oscilla-sound & @indexrecords, he explores space & rhythm through a psychedelic blend of deep, bassy sounds.

So happy to have him as part of the series -- thanks Giovanni :)

The recording of my set at Paral·lel Festival 2022 🌲⛰🧡 @parallelfestival

I was on 12.30-14.30 on Saturday afternoon. When I started playing, grey hazy clouds were still drifting across the panorama from Friday night’s storm, and by the end of my set, the sun was shining down on all of us.

This set meant a great deal to me, and being gifted the task of drifting from ambient expansion into trippy rhythms, coaxing everyone up off the floor and into movement, was such a dream.

For the first Deep Mind Music of 2023, I am delighted to welcome garçon, one of the brains behind the impeccable amenthia label, a dynamic and highly-inspiring DJ, whose sets I always find special. After many years of mutual online mix-appreciation, we finally got to hang out in person last year, and it’s been so lovely to connect with a fellow deep-feeling DJ.

I love the way garçon weaves together sounds, rhythms and harmonies into compelling patchworks which transport the listener into whole new worlds. He has a very subtle way of putting together tracks, delicately contrasting soundscapes to bring out new shapes and motifs, lightly morphing the visual landscape around us.

garçon's mix for Deep Mind Music is a space for nocturnal daydreaming, a gentle dive into the ocean of the mind, going ever inwards in a swirling haze of thoughts. A poignant expression of emotion that perfectly captures the wistful energy of January 🕯️

The first half of the mix slowly coalesces out of gossamer veils of sound, each new layer melting into the next. In the second half, we gradually descend into deeper pools of emotion, detaching from reality and getting lost in the waves. By the end, we’re adrift in an intimate cerebral realm, a space for pensive imagining and unbounded feeling. The closing track by Donnacha Castello is one of those pieces of music which is at once an expression of the deepest sorrow, and the purest joy. Thank you garçon for this very moving entry 🕊️🤍☁️

Armenian artist @davenyxaether has been a focal point of our music consumption, lapping up each mix and release with fervent hunger, since his explosive track "strngr" on Serbian compilation @kepasaparadoks. His productions and mixes reach a level of frenzied beauty many can only dream of. Traversing deep ambient explorations, through grimey bass to fiery heights of percussive madness. His latest release on @typelessrecords is a further testament to his unique taste and skill for carving up volatile, percussive, bass-heavy hits. Dave N.A. everybody. Chris SSG is best known as the co-founder of the now defunct MNML SSGS blog, recognized as a leading source of critical insight on electronic music. Following the end of the blog, he has devoted his energies to DJing and organising parties, and in the process has become an integral part of Japan’s electronic music community. As a DJ, Chris SSG has taken a less common approach, focusing primarily on ambient and experimental music. He has developeda distinctive approachto ambient that has a similar structure and dynamicto a techno set, only aimed for the headand heart. Chris SSG has played widelyin Tokyo, and has ventured further afield, with shows in Taipei, Beijing, Shanghai, Shenzhen and Hong Kong, as well as at Berghain’s Elektroakustischer Salon, Concrete Paris and The Bunker New York, andmajor festivals including Berlin Atonal, Nachtdigital, Organik, and Sustain Release.

“Vivid” and “otherworldly” are words sometimes used to try and describe @erikadotnet’s singular sound. Combining a fresh, forward-thinking approach with a strong connection to her roots and the wider scene, Erika has become an influential presence in the years since she was first gifted a TR-606 by BMG and invited to join Ectomorph. 

As a producer, her work is grounded in techno and electro, but often goes much further afield, incorporating rough textures and abstract kaleidoscopic experimentation to great effect.
Alongside long-time collaborators BMG and Amber, she runs the highly-regarded label Interdimensional Transmissions (@ithqdetroit). This platform has allowed her to delve deep on a sonic level through a string of impactful solo and collaborative releases, while also overseeing and contributing to legendary Detroit events Samhain, No Way Back and Return to the Source.

The majesty in Erika’s Patterns of Perception 111 comes as much from its restraint as it does from its vibrancy. Layers of rhythm and percussion swirl and elevate, revealing intricate new patterns at every juncture. And while Erika’s expert pacing and evocative atmospheres offer a sense of low-slung sophistication, a subtle, raw energy builds, bristling just under the surface.

Honored to welcome UK-based Caldera to the series, a talented and multi-dimensional producer affiliated with several of our favorite labels along with his Well Street-associated Loop LF alias. Caldera's mix is volcanic, true to form, simmering and vaporous in its first half before igniting in thunderous bloom in the second. From headiness and haze to full-blown percussive workouts, an unparalleled sense of rhythm lies at its core, seismic in its swell. Thank you Caldera!
